iGuerburn Backpack Tether for Garmin inReach MINI/MINI 2 Handheld GPS

It is a good price when comparing with Garmin's solution. It is easy to install and attach to my day hike or backpacking bag shoulder strap. I love the cord which keeps it from falling to the ground. I have not had the experience of it falling off by accidental bumping as I have read in others reviews. It can take a bit of practice to put back within the harness, you have to be deliberate to align it in a diagonal so it falls into the groves and twist to upright position in the harness to lock in place. But I am sure you can get better at it with time.

Just what I needed to secure my Inreach to a parachute shoulder strap. It twists 45 degrees to lock/unlock. I just wish that it had a more affirmative detent.

While I have not taken this gadget out to field test it (it is not hiking season in my neck of the woods yet) I already attached it to my backpack to see how it works. It is super easy to attach the base part to the shoulder strap (the velcro closure lets you cinch it tight). Now, to attach the GPS first remove the existing clip from your GPS (in mine I lift the bottom of the clip and slide it down. The clip comes off easily). Now slide in the clip of the holder until you hear it click (the round part goes in first). To attach the GPS to the tether, angle the GPS to the 11:00 position on a clock until you feel it fall into place and then turn the GPS to the right until it is upright and securely attached. That's it! My only reservation about this mount is that this does not offer a locking mechanism when the GPS is mounted on the tether base. It is very easy to twist off to unmount it. I worry about accidentally nudging it while hiking and have it come loose. The attached cord should prevent it from falling on the ground, though. If it had that added safety feature I would have given it all 5 stars. A bit of added security would be ideal.

This product held up. On a recent canoe trip I hit a log and capsized. I had my inreach clipped to my bladder/backpack and when the canoe rolled, the Inreach got lodged underwater in a "v" in the tree. The backpack with the clip came loose and started downstream, but was hung on the Inreach. I was able to recover and swim back to the log and recover the inreach and backpack. The tether held strong. Unfortunately, it stretched out. So, now I'm in search of a new tether without replacing the whole thing. I have no issues recommending this item. It saved my Inreach.

This tether was perfect to relocate my attachment point in my avalanche air bag. Took no time to install and got my InReach to the right spot on my backpack strap.

Well built absolutely met / exceeded my expectations. Gets my InReach quickly accessible and out of my hands.

Works great. Took it out on my hike the other day, wrapped it around my backpack shoulder strap and it stayed put. Be careful though, if you don't get it wrapped all the way around and you are wearing a dry-fit shirt.... the velcro will snag it the shirt. 🤦‍♂️

I don't like the fact that it only takes a 1/8 turn for it to come off the mount. Would make lots more since for it to take a 1/4 turn. I keep this on my lifejacket in a kayak. If I dumped, it could very easily get turned 1/8 turn and likely be lost in fast water with obstacles. Bought a different one for this reason. Should work fine for most though.

Very pleased with the functionality and quality of this product. Initially I thought it was a little pricey but when I considered its uniqueness I now feel the cost is fair.

Makes an excellent backpack strap holder paired with a Fjallraven Horizon Pouch, this combination keeps your GpsMap67 secure with the screen protected. If this device had a secondary safety latch it would provide a confident mounting, since that is not provided it can be scary to mount an 800.00 GPS.

Super pratique et facile d'utilisation. S'adapte à toutes les courroies de sac à dos. Je le recommande.
