WG55F Insulated Full Coverage Drum Heating Blanket - Barrel Heater, Fixed Internal Thermostat Max Temp 145 F

Like all the Powerblankets we have had, these have had a very short lifespan. They just aren't robustly made or at all typical of normal drum heater blankets we have - only a single thin heater wire taped to polyethylene pool float type foam, inside a vinyl pouch.

this cover has been on an almost full 55 gallon plastic barrel for a good few months and so far so good.the tempurature hasn't gotten down much below the freezing point yet but i'm sure it will keep the water liquid when it does.at the momenmt as it is in the 30's, the water is actually tepid.well worth the money.

The insulated heating blanket is perfect for 55 gallon barrels. It lets you keep liquids at a set temperature so that you do not lose viscosity. Temperature range is 125 degrees to 145 degrees. It can be used outdoors and each day, it should be cleaned. If you need to keep liquids like propane warm in the cold weather, this will do the job. It isn't cumbersome to stow away during the warm season. It folds to about 4 inches. You don't have to let work stop due to cold weather. Keep the liquids in your barrels at an even temp.

WE ordered this in late January 2019. It worked fine to begin with but then it started to malfunction. We noticed the contents of the drum was not warming up. It no longer heats up the whole blanket and only heat up the bottom half if the blanket. this started up a couple of weeks ago, shortly after Amazon's return option ran out. We have taken good care of it and carefully stored it around a drum when not in use. At this point it has been a waste of money. Is there warranty direct from the manufacturer that lasts more than a few weeks?

Only lasted a little over 2 years and about a dozen uses. Worked good… when it worked. Plug it in now and after 24 hours still no heat. First use this year. We warm up crystalized honey in our barrels in order to pump it out to our bottling tanks. Having to buy another blanket, but from another manufacturer. :0(

This barrel heater works as well as more expensive heaters. Will keep water warm when the temp drops into the single digits you just need to have a lid on the barrel.

This worked for a couple of months then quit working. For more than $300 I would expect it to work for more than 2 months. I would order something from a different company. Definitely a complete waste of money. This was only in a garage and never mistreated, not sure how long it would last with any sort of tough weather or conditions outside of a garage, but probably only a couple of weeks.

A quality product, fairly priced.
