Working Perfectly
Tried every heater available to heat hydraulic sump on crane. Wrapped this thing around it plugged it in. The next morning I had a big smile on my face.

Sent the wrong thing twice.
Amazon sent the wrong thing two times then I am on the hook to make a return for both items. This didn't fit even halfway around. It barely fit a 15 gallon barrel.

Hope this one last.
Works fine. Second time purchased first one didn't last 6 mo. Hopefully this one will last at least a few yrs.

Works great
Works very well. Easy to use - simply slip over drum and plug in. This heats on a single side - not both sides - so no risk of touching other things with unwanted heat. Fairly well insulated but frankly, the cover could be a bit thicker - as far as I can tell that is probably the area most likely to give out first although only time will tell for sure on durability. I'd probably go with the wider version next go round but depending on your needs, this provides plenty of heat.

I want my money back! Left it on for over an hour and did nothing. Put my hand between the drum and the do nothing guard and the plastic wasn't even warm.

Seems to work great for our needs
Works great! I work at an adhesive distribution company and we occasionally get drums of material that is temperature sensitive. Until now, we would have to set up a tent and heat just that to keep the drum warm because the gas heaters in the warehouse weren't quite strong enough to keep the temp steady enough. As luck would have it, the day this arrived, we received in a temp sensitive drum and our temperatures outside were in the teens to single digits (Fahrenheit). We plugged this in like in the picture and no problems. The warmer seems to work much like a lava lamp. The base warms up, the warm material rises, it cools and sinks, keeping a rotation constantly. We are really happy with this heater!

Quality Made.
The WarmGuard WG55 Insulated Drum Band is a good option for Southern Climates that don't experience hard freezes, but rather the occasional freezing temperatures. I think the WG55 has less applications than the WG55F. WarmGuard WG55F Insulated Full Coverage Drum Heating Blanket - Barrel Heater, Fixed Internal Thermostat Max Temp 145 F I would spend the extra $120 to get full coverage, full insulation and more even product heating. You can pair any of these warmers with a thermostat temperature controller for more precise temperatures below 145 F.If you have one, two or three drums to keep warm on job sites I think these make great sense. It will allow you to extend the working season for days when mornings are too cold to apply but afternoon temps are good. These will let you work in the late fall and early spring times. Also these are great for the unexpected cold blasts we get every now and then.If you have more than 3 barrels to heat and have the space I would consider building a temporary climate controlled storage room. One could be built economically and then you could use a couple of these to heat the room. Or you could at least get a few of these and put insulation blankets over the grouped and stacked barrels. The insulating factor these blankets provide is their weakest link. You can save a lot of energy and money by insulating better. If you just have a few barrels these do make sense and are very convenient. You can of course add insulation over these to increase efficiency too. They are quite well constructed, very durable feeling and warm up nice and evenly. They are expensive but you do get what you pay for as they are good quality.
