Amazing
Once again Trudi Canavan writes a truly fabulous book! You continue following the story of Reille and Tyen in this book, starting with Reille. You get to discover how her new life is after she was forced to leave her home city and settle in a new country as told by the 'Angel' she met in the mountain temple, however, it is not long before the story brings the Angel back into her life once more who offers her the chance to leave her world and travel with him to his home world to become an Artisan. She accepts his offer and goes with him, but fate throws a twist at her and she ends up travelling with different people and is set on a path of discovery about herself and the rest of the worlds out there. We meet Tyen again at a school of magic where he is teaching mechanical magic using the knowledge he gained on his homeworld. He taught this magic in order to complete his knowledge about other types of magic at the school and after five years has completed his training and is trying to discover new ways to get back to his mission of restoring Vella. He is devistated to hear that the school must close as the ruler of worlds, the 'Rean' has once again (after 20 cycles of disappearance) been spotted and the old law forbidding the teaching of travelling between worlds will be enforced. He, like a lot of his colleagues and students, abandon the school and set off into the in-between to warn others and to find a new path, however, it isn't long before he is confronted by the Rean himself and he must make a deal or suffer the consequences of travelling between worlds. He, like Reille is set on a journey that will test his faith and morals and he will be set on a path of discovery of self.I highly recommend this book, but ensure you read Milleniums Rule first as it will make much more sense afterwards as this book continues on from that one.

A welcome addition to the Canavan stable
Angel of Storms continues the unfolding events of Rielle and Tyen's destiny five years after the events of Thief's Magic, and life, it seems, is good. Rielle has settled on a new world and is learning the art of a weaver, while Tyen has gained a teaching position at a prestigious school for magic. All seems well, until rumors start to circulate of the return of an age old enemy, the Raen, ruler of worlds and - dependent upon who you talk to - destroyer of lands or savior of the people. What follows is a journey of discovery, where Rielle and Tyen learn more about themselves and what they are capable of, as well as uncovering details about the enigma that is the Raen. Along the way, they discover what a heavy burden true power can be, especially when the weight of worlds rests on your shoulders. What happens? Ah, for that you'll need to read the story yourself. But you'll be glad you did.Angel of Storms, a welcome addition to the Canavan stable.

Excellent fantasy story
I bought this second book in the series immediately after reading the first, "Thief's Magic". Like the first one, it easily held my attention to the end and I’m looking forward to September when the final part of the trilogy will be published. The structure of the book is clever, interleaving the stories of Rielle and Tyen. The plot is very well worked out, giving a very interesting story. The main characters are lifelike, the world creation is first class, and the system of magic is very creative.Overall, this is an excellent well-written fantasy story.

Slow and boring
Never before have a not finished a book.. and i didnt want to bot finish this one either. But after getting so fed up of nothing really happening i started to skim paragraphs then half pages then full pages and to be honest i couldve prob skimmed chapters and not missed anything important... reading it was like listening to someone drone on until all you can hear is blah blah blah yaddah yaddah yaddah... after reading 40% and feeling so frustrated with the lack of action or plot or story i finally conceded. A pity as id liked to have seen reille and tyen meet and hopefully discover reille was the next big sorcerer but i cant be bothered trying to finish it when theres so many better books out there i could be reading.

Trudi Canavan does it again!
Trudi Canavan's books are getting consistently better with each she publishes and her first trilogy was awesome anyway. If you like to be transported in your mind to the world in your book then she is definitely the author for you. She manages to create a ridiculously detailed image of the setting within your mind without boring you to death with long-winded explanations like I've found some fantasy writers to do.My only criticism of her work is that I wish there was more!Seriously my favourite author.

Not up to the usual high standard
Had read Ms Canavans other series and enjoyed them . Started reading this series and stopped quarters way in---boring. Decided to give it another try and started book two but again half way through just stopped. Reallydisapointed .. Have moved on now but will have to consider the next offering with care.

Pretty average and forgettable stuff
Interesting premise, but broadly speaking this is a somewhat dull and unexciting book.I remember Canavan's early books, which were vibrant and pulsating. This is somewhat tired and lazy by comparison.Which is a shame.
