Criminal Minds - Season 11 [DVD]

Where to begin. I came to this show late, and was gripped by the previous seasons. The cast and the characters kept the interest going and the story lines were good. Right from the start of this season, I knew the actress who plays JJ would be absent because she had had a baby, what I was not expecting was to have other major characters disappear only to reappear several episodes later. It made this season very disjointed. SPOILER ALERT. Then there was the build up to the actor Shemar Moore leaving, how can the series survive without anymore "baby girl". I loved the relationship that Derek had with Garcia. There is also the questionable "jump" six months later and why bother to bring him back if he was going to leave anyway. You might as well have left him out after he was tortured. When I read the episode guide for the final episode and saw that "Hotch" was accused of something suspicious, I began to get worried that he was leaving to. It turns out that he has been sacked ! At this point I gave up watching the season with two episodes left to go. I think it is very hard to continue a series when you lose too many main characters. The ONLY exception to the rule seems to be Law and Order Special Victims Unit that has got better and better with "Olivia Benson" in charge, She really can carry the whole series on her shoulders. It is a shame that the writers on Criminal Minds could not have seen a way to forgive Thomas Gibson and it is for this reason that this will be the last season I buy. I will choose fondly to remember the season where it ended with JJ getting married. All cast where present and it ended on a positive note, maybe that is where it should have stayed?

It’s mostly noted by many website reviews that this was the weakest of the criminal minds series and I have to agree , criminal minds tends to in every series have lows and standout episodes it’s a show of 50/50 I think good and bad episodes but season 11 was just awful , I have bought all the seasons as I collect them and why get a series and not buy one cause it’s a bad season makes no collection complete but it’s a season I will be skipping in rewatches

Purchased this series on prime as it was half the price of sky. I had recorded watched all the series on sky but they totally skipped season 11 so I purchased using prime as it was less than half the price sky were charging. Nice to have a choice as sky are so expensive for everything
