UPDATE:After a little over a month this has completely stopped working, just days after my return window for amazon. Ive contacted the company to see what they say and hopefully provide a replacement or refund. I've seen others experiencing the same issues. Until I hear back from this company I can only urge you to avoid this product, but Ill update with the outcome of this mess. 60$ is too much for something that will only last a month at best.Original review:Id say this is about a 3.5 for me... about 3 days into using it I noticed some strange things where I could only use HDMI and one USB but other ports wouldn't work. I almost returned it to amazon, then I discovered that you really need to use your usb-c charging cable plugged into this unit in order to help power the extra peripherals plugged into this device; previously I had the usb-c charger in a different port directly into my macbook. As some others say it does a get a little hot, but I think thats somewhat typical for a device with this many ports and power running through it - Im keeping an eye on it but I don't think its cause for concern. Overall I like the look of it very much and its getting the job done, I just hope it holds up well over time...

Picked this little guy up for my desk at work to be able to come and go quickly. Do note that I picked up an additional, lower-watt (usb-c) power brick for my laptop to power this guy (it was like $20 cheaper)... which still worked, but it would not charge at the same time. Once I got another of the same stock power-brick that came with my laptop, this thing became my best friend. Going on 6 months and no issues. Using all USB’s, the HDMI, and the RJ-45 to a sonicwall which definitely pushes the bandwidth. It does get warm, but zero performance issues thus far!

Update 2.1: Okay, here's something odd. The USB ports do actually still work. But you have to make sure that's it's plugged into the USB-C port with the Tikko name facing up. I was under the impression that USB-C can be plugged either way, but with this hub, you definitely have to have it facing up. All the other ports seemed to work fine either way, but not the USB ports.Update 2: Yep, it's junk, just like so many reviews have stated. All three USB ports burned out at the same time. And it sucks your battery dry at an astounding rate. I didn't notice that at first, because I always used it at my desk with the charger engaged. So for functionality I would give it a 4. But apparently the failure rate is 100%. Do not buy this.Update: after using for a month, I thought I might have to return it. Sometimes after the laptop has been asleep for a few hours, not all of the ports seem to function correctly after waking up. The audio out especially seems to go dormant. It turns out all I need to do is unplug the hub from the USB-C port and plug it back it in and it works just fine.In an attempt to completely replace my desktop with a laptop, I needed a way to connect my older USB printer and scanner, and I also prefer a hard-wired internet connection whenever possible. I also have an older 2.1 Altec-Lansing speaker system that I love, but needs a 3.5 mm jack. This is the first hub I've seen that has everything I could ask for, most are missing at least one of the ports this one has. The USB, Ethernet, HDMI and card readers work beautifully, and the audio out is the icing on the cake. As for build quality, it feels sturdy and well built. Not overly heavy - you won't have any problem toting it around. But I'm guessing it will last at least as long as the technology that's inside of it. Of note, it does get quite warm - I regularly have the 3 USB ports, Ethernet, HDMI, and audio out in use together. I don't know if this will affect its longevity, but time will tell.

[EDIT AT THE END] Seems to do the job well. I'd give it 5 stars but for 3 things: 1, it seems to get pretty hot even when not being used as a passthrough for charging; 2, can't use the micro SD slot and the regular SD slot simultaneously, and 3, it won't reliably power two external hard drives at once (at least my two). Also the color isn't the same as my Macbook Pro (it's a little more blue), but that's a me problem.EDIT: well, a week and a half past the support window closing, the product no longer works at all. My computer doesn't recognize it, regardless of which port it is plugged into. I'll keep investigating, but as of right now it doesn't work at all.

UPDATE: I intended to copy files with my power adapter plugged to wall and I still got the same error. I have uploaded a picture of the error I get.I got a new Macbook and needed a hub. This one seemed pretty reasonable. I got this because I had originally gotten a HyperDrive that worked great but problem was putting the bottom of the protective case on the MacBook. This lead me to search for a dongle in order to use my 2 external hard drives. I have a Seagate 2TB external HD and a WD MyPassport 4TB external HD. Everything would work fine with just one HD connected. However, I would notice that it would say HD not ejected properly constantly even though I hadn't ejected the HD, it was because the device would overheat. Yesterday when I tried to transfer large files from one HD to another HD (50+ GB) it would start the transfer but then all of a sudden the transfer would stop and I'd get 3 errors: There was too much power being used by the dongle and that both drives were ejected improperly. This doesn't work for me as I do deal with large files and many times need to transfer. I need something that will allow me to do this without it failing. The device itself looks awesome and if it worked properly I would no doubt have kept this.

Zu meiner Hardware:- Razor Blade Stealth (4k Display und i7 Kaby lake) mit Thunderbold 3-Anschluss an USB-C-Buchse.- ein kleinerer, älterer LCD Monitor- eine alte USB-Dockingstation mit PS/2, RS232, (alter) Druckerport, USB2.0 Ports- aktueller USB3 Bluray-BrennerWarum sollte ich so eine Dockingstation:- wenn ich mein Ultrabook mitnehme, will ich nach Möglichkeit nur ein Kabel abklemmen müssen(dazu müsste ich Netzwerk, Monitor und diverse USB-Geräte abklemmen => Fummelarbeit)Bislang hatte ich einen kleinen USB3-Hub mit GB-LAN. Dieser hat aber immer wieder böse Aussetzer und keinen Monitoranschluss.Folgendes habe ich bislang getestet:- Strom-Anschuss via USB-C-Hub: funktioniert, aber mein Ultrabook wird nicht geladen (daher Punktabzug), wenn es eingeschaltet ist (im Ausschaltzustand schon)- HMDI-Anschluss: funktionierte sofort mit dem HMDI->DVI-Kabel an meinem LCD-Monitor- USB-Ports: Brenner und alte USB-Dockingstation wurde problemlos nach einer Weile erkannt (Windows 10 braucht halt einen Moment :-) )- GB-Lan: pumpt bei mir sauber 110-120MB/sec zwischen meiner Synology auf und von meinem Ultrabook - so muss da sein - bislang gab es auch nicht die geringsten Aussetzer- Verhalten beim Hochfahren: der USB-C-Hub verhält sich, als wäre er Teil des Ultrabooks, d.h. auch beim Einschalten erscheint das duplizierte Bios-Startbild auf meinem Monitor parallel zum Ultrabook-Display - das ist wohl kein Standard (ich hatte schon Hubs, bei denen das Bild auf dem Monitor erst nach dem Windows-Login gezeigt wurde)Fazit:Würde der Hub auch im Betrieb laden, wäre ich super happy. So bin ich "nur" zufrieden. :-)Ein wenig Sorgen macht mir die Wärmeentwicklung: der Hub wird gut handwarm. Mal sehen, was im Sommer ist.Die Karten-Ports habe ich nicht ausprobiert. Betreibe den Hub seit 3 Tagen am neuen Thinkpad E580Orignal Lenovo-USB-C Netzteil am Hub, Hub per festem Kabel am Notebook.Außerdem noch einen Beamer per HDMI, eine USB-Festplatte und einen Stereo-Verstärker am Audio-Ausgang. LAN will ich noch hinzufügen.Erstmal vorweg: Das oben genannte funktioniert bei mir unter Wnidows 10 einwandfrei. Die Treiber wurden automatisch installiert.Bisher keine Verbindungsabbrüche.Das Gerät wird im Betrieb gut handwarm, also kein Problem.Der Audio-Ausgang weist keine Störgeräusche auf, das ist schonmal viel besser als der Ausgang am Notebook. Man kann den Verstärker weit aufdrehen und hört nichts von irgendwelchen Schaltnetzteilen, kein prasseln, kein Fiepen.Minuspunkte:Das fest angebrachte Kabel ist starr und sehr kurz. Kein großes Problem, wenn das Notebook auf dem Tisch steht, schon eher ein Problem, wenn auf der Seite des USB-C-Anschlusses bald eine Wand kommt.Die Anschlüsse am Hub verteilen sich wie im Bild zu sehen auf alle 4 Schmalseiten. Dadurch hat man ein großes Kabelgewirr, das man mit dem Dock ja eigentlich eleganter bündeln könnte, wären die Anschlüsse auf einer Seite konzentriert.

Habe den Hub für mein MacBook gekauft und habe mich wohl von den positiven Bewertungen und dem Preis blenden lassen.Bei genauerem Hinsehen (leider erst im Nachhinein) erkennt man an den positiven Bewertungen, dass sie erstaunlicherweise alle in nur einem sehr kurzen Zeitraum und mit sehr schlechtem Deutsch verfasst wurden. Sehr viele sind asiatisch! Sie machen den Eindruck als wären sie wohlwollend und nicht echt. Die negativen Bewertungen hingegen sind gleichlautend und beschreiben ähnliche massive Probleme! Sie wirken um einiges glaubwürdiger, insbesondere jetzt, da ich die gleichen Mängel feststelle.Der Hub wird unsäglich heiss und ist für angeschlossenen Geräte, besonders für eingesteckte Karten ein erhebliches Risiko. Unbeaufsichtigt würde ich den Hub auf keinen Fall am MacBook laufen lassen. Das Gerät funktioniert einwandfrei und hat eine angenehme Größe.Die Verarbeitung ist tadellos und alle Anschlüße funktionieren. Im Lieferumfang ist eine kleine "Samt"tasche enthalten welche das Gerät vor Kratztern schützt, wenn man dieses einfach mal in die Laptoptasche oder die Schublade wirft.Das matte Finish sieht sehr edel aus.Ich habe den Adapter nun immer bei mir und kann so mit nahezu jeder Konfiguration mein Laptop an den Beamer anschließen.Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es lediglich für die Wärmeentwicklung bei Benutzung. Diese scheint mir doch zu hoch zu sein.Kann das Gerät aber dennoch bestens empfehlen. Insbesondere im Vergleich zu den anderen, weitaus teureren Geräten.

Sehr guter Adapter mit vielen Anschlüssen, die auch alle tadellos an meinem MBP 2016 funktionieren.Was mir allerdings sofort negativ auffiel, war die extreme Hitzeentwicklung des Adapters. Da ein anderer Adapter ebenfalls sehr warm wurde, habe ich mir nicht viel dabei gedacht.Heute, nach nichtmal 2 Monaten im Einsatz, stellte ich fest, dass mein Notebook nur noch 5% Akkuladung aufwies. Ich prüfte die Stromzufuhr und stellte fest, dass der Adapter nur noch 7W Leistung weitergab, dafür aber mittlerweile so heiß war, dass man ein Spielgei hätte drauf braten können.Für den Preis deutlich nicht langlebig genug. Ich werde mich nach einer Alternative umschauen müssen.
