**Q: What is the distance to and from the Y?**
A: There isn't a set distance, it is made so you can peel the y apart all the way back to the 1/8 jack if you wish.  It comes with the cables together pretty close to the end by the xlr plugs but can be adjusted to any length.  I ak impressed with the quaof this cable for the cost, would reccomend.

**Q: do they work on Rokit 5 speakers?**
A: They absolutely should. They allow you to connect a 1/8" stereo output, such as a cell phone or ipod, to a pair of balanced XLR jacks. Since the Rokit 5 speakers have balanced XLR inputs, these should work fine. I'm using several of them to go from the onboard 7.1 surround sound outputs of a computer to the balanced inputs on my powered monitors (JBL 306P).

**Q: Does this have impedance matching transformers for each channel?**

No, this 1/8 Inch TRS to 2 XLR Cable does not have impedance matching transformers for each channel.

**Q: Does the size indicated in the description (6' or 10') represent the total length when pulling the wires all the way apart? looking for max xlr split.**
A: The 6' or 10' is from tip[ of the 1/8" connector to the tip of the barrel on the XLR connectors.  I guess if you separate the XLR connectors (pulled apart the zip cord) all the way back to the 1/8" connector - you would have the double the length between the XLR connectors (12' or 20').   This isn't a typical use however - because one side is carrying the L-Left stereo signal and the other is carrying the R-Right stereo signal (if connecting the 1.8" to a stereo audio connector.

Excellent cable, connects easily, audio is clear and definitely value for money compared to others. I use them to connect from laptop to external speakers and particularly like that the housing for the 3.5mm jack is small and not oversized like some other competing items. I have not detected any unwanted frequencies or noise, they seem pretty transparent and deliver whatever quality of audio you supply to them.
