You Can Be a Friend Hardcover – Picture Book, January 11, 2011

I first bought this book for our young granddaughter to be read to her later in her years. I next bought the same book for a 3rd grade class where I volunteer here in San Angelo. I went to the school to read the book to them yesterday. It was very age appropriate for them and lots of good discussion followed after the reading. The friendship concept is so important for children or anyone else to understand. We don't always get to have things just as we would like them in a friendship, and we need to understand that going into any friendship. Mrs. Tommy F. Williams

We purchased four books for our grandchildren because we thought the story has such a strong message to be learned for the young, as well as the old. The parents sat down with the grandkids and they read it together and then had a question and answer session. It's amazing how well the book came across and left the grandkids with a new perspective on friendships with no strings attached.Thanks to the Dungy's for a great book.

He's not only a wonderful former NFL player and coach, he's a very good writer as well. This charming and educational book is delightful for children 3 and above. I purchased it for the granddaughter of a good friend, and this little girl loves it. I highly recommend it to all.

Tony Dungy of football fame teams with his wife in telling a story of tolerance and acceptance to his children and all of the children of the world. The beautiful illustrations carry the story along in a visual progression that enhance the words on the page.

This is a good book to teach children about handicaps and that everyone is the same. The book teaches them about reaching out to help others and mainly about building relationships. GREAT BOOK!

This book is a very good experience for children. Tony Dungy has a knack for telling a story with great lessons and compassionate story. Recommend for children's gifts!
