I really enjoyed the first film like most people and was a bit disappointed by the second, although in that we see tony and peppa's relationship develop and get introduced to SHIELD. this film is full of action, twists and turns, and as others have stated you really see tony stark stripped bare emotionally as he suffers anxiety attacks following the attack in avengers assemble, then getting thrown into the threat of the Mandarin and the twists and turns he unveils as he goes along. being a shane black film there is plenty of dry humour that Robert downey jr delivers to perfection as usual, and don Cheadle has a larger roll in this film which shows you the humorous relationship between tony and rhodey. ben kingsley as the mandarin is outstanding, hes so good!!! I originally saw the film in the cinema and was blown away by the special effects so had to get the dvd on Blu-ray which was just as fantastic as on the big screen, and the extras like deleted scenes, bloopers, and trailer for the new Thor film where great as well. although this is supposedly the last iron man film for Marvel at the moment, we know he will be in the new avengers film, so now I cant wait for that!!! Review: Suberb Escapism - Robert Downey Jr knocks 'em dead (again). Apart from the Iron Man bit the story of drug enhanced super soldiers that don't quite work is really quite believable. Then add in a super rich, super smart, super sarcastic man in a metal suit and you're in for a really great and entertaining movie. We loved it and would happily watch it again & again. Oh and err (my wife hopefully won't see this bit) Gwyneth Paltrow isn't to shabby either - shabby ! Yes, he's back again and this time facing off against his most dangerous enemy yet. Forced into defending the one he loves most (Pepper Potts) Tony/Iron Man recruits every technological tool in his armoury to thwart his nemesis and defend his honour, all the while protecting miss potts from certain doom. A real marvel this one folks and the Christmas setting adds a touch of nostalgia to proceedings.
