Rift Ultimate Edition (PC)

Please do not buy this product if you are expecting it to be able to unlock the extra bag and vault slots in the game. It is not the 'ultimate edition' (yes, according to Trion support, there are different versions) that will unlock these and Trion were unable to provide any assistance on this version when I raised a ticket with them. This version is the 'Ashes of History' version, that does not unlock the slots. Very disappointed with the purchase as would have avoided had I known beforehand.*Edited after response from Trion directly:-"Righto, upon investigation, it's not that it was simply an older version - it was a an old copy of the launch version of RIFT that was simply (and incorrectly) labelled as "Ultimate" by the third party (private) vendor on Amazon. It was not sold directly by us. In other words, you probably bought the game you already bought.I didn't even know that there were old launch copies floating around - RIFT has been fully free-to-play for some time!"

As previous people have stated, this is very useful if you are starting out in Rift as I got the following.Key code for the main game (on the back on the manual) which gives, 7K loyalty, 2 x bag slots, some purple gear, Patron privileges, and other bits & bobs.Key code for Ashes of History (on a paper supplement) which gives, 2 x collector mounts, 24 slot collectors bag, Money Bags mobile bank, Pets and some purple gear etc. If you already have the game installed, all you do is log in to your Glyph account and add the two CD Keys. Then when you start the game your bonus stuff in your in-game mail.

Buying this is cheaper than purchasing the extra character slots and the extra soul trees, so if you are just starting to get into the game and want more, I would recommend getting this DVD first. Registering its serial key in your account gives you the bag slots, char slots and extra soul trees. Trion support have mentioned that the DVDs aren't produced any longer, so once these run out, it'll be the in-game purchases to get the same benefits.

Package comes with DVD disc, Small glossy flyer with game key and instructions how to redeem code. (waiting on GM response) Keyboard shortcut double sided flyer. Very hard to read as small. A large foldout map of TELARA and on reverse RIFT artwork. Poster ok but as its creased hard to fit into dvd box, is a bit ruined for displaying. A small manual and another original game registration key. Rift itself is an awesome game.

For a free game, I admittedly wasn't expecting much. I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that, since I last played (around release), the population's increased massively, the worlds are crammed with lore and detail, and there's so much gameplay. It's nicely balanced, the PvP areas are fun, the PvE areas are teeming with quests and huge variations on landscapes, it's absolutely wonderful. Well, time to boot it up again...

This is not the Ultimate Edition, that give access to the exclusive bag slot, bank tab, dye options and other features needing the UE. It is a normal version with a few mediocre bonuses.

Well worth the money, I have just got my third character to 65, the patron rested XP really boosts leveling.
