The only downside is the kack of pockets and additional storage, there's a small pouch inside that fits a small sd card case and another iiternal/open pouch you could put a lens cap & lens wipe in. No obvious way to hold a tripod, however if you are not using the belt loop you can thread your tripod through it and it works quite well as ois snug & seems to hold the tripod well.
