Great luck better customer service absolutely recommend
I bought the pro version of this lock for my personal residence and absolutely love it. It is so easy to use so when we needed another lock for a rental turned Airbnb, I decided to get this lock. They’re easy to install. I like that I can add different codes interfaces with the Wi-Fi. It’s great however I did have a problem where this one the battery was draining after about a week which is not normal based off my experience with the pro version when I contacted customer support they were lovely. They provided easy instructions and ended up sending me basically a new lock without any additional cost to me.

Works perfect. I had connectivity issues, talked to Customer Support, and it was solved in minutes.

So far, so good!
My Yale/Nest lock became increasingly flakey, going offline sporadically until, after resetting it many times, it eventually refused to connect at all. (I worked the problem for a *long* time before giving up and buying this as a replacement. There were a lot of people online with the same problem and the "fixes" didn't help.) I was pleasantly surprised that the installation was easy. The only part of the installation that was poorly documented was the bit about the door sensor. The door sensor monitors whether the door is physically shut or not (since the deadbolt can be operated regardless of whether the door is open or closed). I watched the YouTube video and it explained things better that the written instructions, so, overall, installation was problem-free. The app is a little over-engineered, in my opinion. You set up "Addresses", "Locations" within an Address, and "Devices" within a location. I suppose it makes sense if, for example, you owned several properties with multiple buildings on each, with every unit in every building having two or more devices. For a person like me, with just one lock at a vacation home, it's overkill and unnecessarily complicated. The features of the app are great, comparable to what I had with the Yale/Nest lock. The two major differences are 1) that the ULTRALOQ has a sensor for when the door is open or shut and 2) the way to handle dead batteries. The Yale/Nest lock has contacts on the outside where you hold up a 9-volt battery to the lock, powering it long enough to get it unlocked. The ULTRALOQ has physical keys. I like having the physical keys very much, but they are no use if the physical key is not present. For example, if I wanted to give access to guests and the batteries were dead, I would have to drive hours to meet with them and get the door unlocked. It would be ideal to have both features: battery terminals AND physical keys. But I can't really knock it for not having a feature that I already knew it lacked. That said, the ULTRALOQ app tells me how strong the batteries are, which the Yale/Nest lock does not do. Another cool feature of the ULTRALOQ is that I can take it off the WiFi (and lose remote control capability) to extend battery life. I don't want to do that, but it's cool that it's possible. Replacing the batteries is easier with the ULTRALOQ. You need a tool or thin toothpick to get the battery cover off the Yale/Nest lock. The ULTRALOQ cover comes off just by applying gentle pressure. The ULTRALOQ has an "autolock" feature which seems a little too aggressive. I turned this off because I sometimes want to leave the front door open without the lock taking it upon itself to lock within seconds. There is also a feature to automatically unlock whenever a configured Bluetooth device approaches. That's also too automatic for me, but some users might appreciate it. Updating the firmware on the ULTRALOQ was a big pain. It took several attempts which failed randomly, despite the WiFi being strong and my phone being right next to the lock. That did not bode well, as it reminded me of trouble I've had with other devices. But it eventually worked. I would change my rating from four to five stars if the firmware updates worked more reliably and if the app was organized more intuitively. But, so far, the lock is working well and it has almost all the features I want.

So far so good
Two years into owning the product. It had a few major software updates, so many 'bugs' got eliminated. Twice had to reach out to the customer support and they were professional and provided replacements. This is my first smartlock, I do not have any other experience with those. But it does everything I need it to do.

Just what I needed
It has been just what I needed! Installation was relatively easy. It helped to watch a video. Setting up the WiFi and app is a must! It makes the experience even better.

Great Hardware, but Frustrating WiFi Drops and Missing Customer Support
I picked up the ULTRALOQ U-Bolt WiFi Smart Lock looking forward to its built-in WiFi connectivity and app remote access. The physical installation onto my door went smoothly, and the deadbolt assembly feels solid. However, the software connectivity and backend customer service have turned this into a disappointingly average and frustrating experience. What Works Well • Physical Build Quality: The actual lock itself feels rugged, secure, and looks great on the door. The physical components and the door sensor are well-constructed. • The Catch-22: Unfortunately, you don't actually know if the smart features will play nice with your specific home network until after you have gone through all the physical labor of unboxing it, removing your old hardware, and installing this unit onto your door. Where It Completely Fails • Constant WiFi Drops: Once fully installed, this lock would constantly drop its connection to my network. This isn't a problem with my home setup, as my WiFi router is brand new and all my other smart home devices work flawlessly. The built-in WiFi chip inside this lock simply seems incredibly unstable or hyper-sensitive. • Terrible, Time-Consuming Support: I am a highly technical person, but reaching out to their customer support was exhausting. Instead of offering practical solutions, they only send back highly technical, tedious, and time-consuming troubleshooting steps. They expected me to manually check intricate router firmware settings, install an extra network bridge, and fiddle around with Bluetooth diagnostics just to get a "built-in WiFi" lock to do its job. • Dismissive Resolution: When I finally requested a live support phone call so we could quickly work through the glitches together, they essentially gave up. Their formal response was: "The lock is not compatible with your network. It might be good for you to return the lock." Final Verdict The ULTRALOQ U-Bolt WiFi lands firmly at a 1-star rating because the physical lock mechanism is decent, but the "smart" connectivity is incredibly poor. If a company is going to sell a premium smart lock, they need a customer service team willing to jump on a call and help customers troubleshoot, rather than just telling them to rip it back off the door and return it. Buyer beware—it is a total gamble whether this will actually stay connected to your router.

A good smart lock
Works well! The app has decent features and customization. The proximity unlock works 95% of the time. The proximity lock for some reason is a bit finicky but their customer support is very good.

Amazing product Amazing company
This product is amazing. Does what it says. I love the auto unlock feature when you approach the door. What's even more amazing is the customer service. They follow up within 24 hours and if they don't hear from you after their follow-up they reach out to make sure everything is okay. This is an A1 company I would definitely buy from them again

Good quality product
Worked well but needs a wifi bridge which can be a hassle but it was ok for us.

The door sensor is critical, and this version has it.
Great little lock to replace my ubolt pro with fingerprint reader. The major advantage here is the door sensor. This means that it only relocks when the door is closed. The other lock (without sensor) was destroyed by being slammed shut after relocking automatically ; when the lock was already out and this shook the internal mechanism loose. The other still lasted 5 years despite this. The app is fine if basic.

Amazing customer service
Lock works great, until the wifi bridge kept cutting in and out. I contacted u-tec and they replied right away helped me troubleshoot. I still could not get it to work reliably. They were quick to send me a new bridge free of cost and shipping and it seems to have fixed my issue. Amazing customer service they actually care, they continually sent me emails to make sure my issue was resolved. I've never had such great customer service!!

Not the Quality I’m used to.
I’ve had nothing but ultraloq for a while now...never an NFC unit, though. Two recent NFC units don’t work well, have been nothing but trouble. The fingerprint units i needed to replace weren’t much better. I got only 3 years out of them. The only units with no issues and still going strong are the simple wifi keypad units. I will be exploring other options. Seller refers you to Support and the experience just gets worse from there. I’m done.
