Twinzee 5 in 1 Compact Ideal for Slicing Fruit and Vegetable Mandoline, Stainless Steel, Universal

I wasn't expecting much as the reviews wasn't all that good but I took a chance and it's very good ..Firstly the plastic isn't bad at all it's quite rigid and stays together when you using it ..I bought it to make waffle fries and it did that job really well .Just thick enough to still see the holes yet thin enough to be crispy..You can press harder for a thicker cut ..The reviews that said it can't cut potato is absolute rubbish ..I tried cabbage onions carrot peppers it was able to shred and slice those without a problem making great coleslaw .Everything stores inside the container wich is a big noise for me as I don't have much cupboard space (due to all my amazon buys ).The safety issue isn't with the machine itself.If you understand its dangerous and be caution with it then it's fine ..The hand gaurd thing is pants so you could do with some protection gloves ..There's a voucher in the box for a free pair .Would be better bundled with the device imo.Can't say how it will perform after a few months but right now cannot fault it ..I have some kitchen experience and this is by no means a professional standard one but for the price it's as good as any you would buy under 70 quid .I cook at home everyday and the kids always prefer thinly sliced salad ..To the machines credit it was able to slice wafer thin tomatoes. Salad tomatoes but usually to achieve this you need to freeze the tomatoes for a little while , but this did it tomatoes straight from the fridge ..100% happy with my purchase have no idea what the bad reviews are talking about

i recently purchased this because it had the 2mm grater blade i required however i did not find this as sharp as i would have liked and also hard to grate. However the onion slicer was nice and sharp. I really use the fine grater to make coleslaw and do not like thick strands of carrot.I know it was not expensive but even so if i had not used it i would have returned it.It might just have been my luck to get one with a blade that i wasnt fully happy with but probably please everybody else. it was certainly a good price.

I love making potatoes boulangeres and for years have struggled to slice potatoes thinly and evenly with the result that the dish can be unevenly cooked. I finally decided to look for a mandolin/slicer that would do the job, and if possible, have a couple of other cutting/slicing features as well so that I could justify yet another kitchen gadget. Having read other reviews on this and other products, I decided this was the one for me and how glad I am that I got it. Without any practice I sliced the potatoes and leeks perfectly and not only was the dish cooked evenly, it looked so much better because all the slices looked uniform too. It is very easy to use but I echo other people's caution about taking care over the sharpness of the blades and the risk of injury. I bought the Twinzee cut resistant gloves too and feel safer using it with them on. I also like the fact that the spare blades and holder can be accommodated inside the storage compartment when not in use. All in all, an excellent product. Thank you!

This is ok. It's pretty lethal as the blades are so sharp, however it's not strong enough to hold the veg you're slicing. You have to press pretty hard and that's where the danger lies. If you twist the the bit you hold as you're slicing slightly out of line it slices the plastic off the edges. I think I'll buy special grating gloves in order to continue using it as i just don't feel safe with the hand held bit that holds the food.

I love this mandoline. It is really sturdy and very easy to use. It is perfect for making thin slices for vegetable crisps and due to the sharpness of the blade it needs very little energy, even with harder vegetables like sweet potatoes. The blades can all be stored neatly and safely away in the box provided which is great and the the finger guard can be stored inside the mandolin. I can't find anything wrong with this product at all, it is a great purchase for a great price.
