Useful but overpriced. (UPDATED)
I purchased this lap desk to raise my iPad off the bed. I recently had neck surgery and can no longer look down as far as I used to be able to. This serves the purpose it was purchased for. Please be aware that the 6" high measurement is incorrect. When sitting on a table with nothing on top of it, this item is barely 5" high. In addition, the slot at the top that says it can be used for your phone or tablet will only work if you do not have a case on either item. The bottom is filled with what are called micro beads which, in my opinion, are much more stable and comfortable than a bean bag type filling would be. All in all, this is a useful item but it is a bit overpriced for the quality.UPDATE: FIVE STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE After having this lap desk for a total of 16 days, the handle came off and there wasn't even anything being stored inside the compartments. I contacted the seller who was very accommodating and issued a refund immediately! DTP Gadgets is wonderful to deal with and I would purchase from them again in the future.

Coming apart in less than 2 months use. Styrofoam beads everywhere.
I loved it at first. Seemed to do exactly as I'd hoped. Somewhere around a month of use, I started finding small 1/8" styrofoam balls inside of it. The glue for the wood had detached and the cushioning material was blowing up into the inner compartment. So I just kept the top closed and didn't use it a lot. As of today.... the seams that attach the carrying handle and connecting the wood to the fabric in the front have come unglued and I have tiny white styrofoam beads by the hundreds scattered around my apartment. Not pleased. Especially for the price of $49 .... Could be a lemon, since noone else has mentioned it... but....

I love it!
I love it! I'm a college student, without a desk, and writing those 10-15 page papers hunched over my bed/couch was horrible. I'm so glad that I came across this lap desk! The storage is so nice and convient because my stuff is usually scattered everywhere. It's nice that I can have it all tucked away. I was hesitant at first because I saw a few reviews that said the top portion doesn't stay in place. However, I thought why not try it anyways and return it if it's too much hassle. I'm so glad I gave it a try! I have no issues and my desk slider stays in place even when I'm carrying it from the handle! I love it and it's probably one of the most beneficial purchases I've made for school and it saved me from all that back pain.

Love it!
Love it. I am disabled am confined to bed mire often than not and have tried over a dozen lap desks. This is by far my favorite...it's comfortable for reading, my tablet, my sketching, eating, and storing everything from my medications to the remote control to keep them safe from from my cats. Couldn't ask for more!

Great!
This little desk is great! I didn't know if I was going to like the separated compartments at first, but turns out they're really handy as they are. I am working on a master's degree, but didn't want to be stuck at a table and desktop... this has a slot for a tablet that works well.... is deep enough to hold the tablet well! The surface is big enough to write in my notebook, and the storage fits everything I need. The bigger storage compartment side didn't hold my large 5-star notebook very well so I did get a smaller notebook, but it works better for me that way anyway. The opening slides left and right, as opposed to opening up, which I also didn't know how I would like at first... but it turns out to be better that way and you don't have to rearrange things to get inside the compartments! Not too heavy... doesn't make my lap hot... it's really such a great little desk!! Very worth the money!

Great Item...could use a few improvements to make Perfect
I work on my couch a lot so a lap desk was a necessity. I really like this lap desk. I used to always be scrambling for a pen & paper so the hidden storage is a major bonus. Plus it helps me to hide my work mess. The design is also very cute (I bought the polka dots, more color options would have been nice)I've done a lot of research and compared to what's out there, I would buy it again. However, I wish:1) there was a latch or something to keep the storage from sliding. Even when you're carrying the lap desk with the handle, the drawer slides.2) Although, there is a handle at the top of the lap desk to carry it around, it would be very nice if there was a more ergonomic design to lift the lap desk from the sides...like an indention or handles on each side3) it used a material that didn't get hot.4) an option for led lighting would be a really nice to haveOverall, pretty good.

Perfect Size
This cushion lap desk is the perfect size. It looks just like the picture. I am able to place my 2017 Surface Pro on it with out it tipping over as it has a kickstand that sticks out a bit far taking up more space than wanted. The pillow contains little foam balls, the same as a bean bag, which conforms nicely on my lap. I also love the height of the desk allowing my screen to be at a comfortable level. The compartments in the desk are quite roomy; it's great for storing my chargers, usb, and other things in there. The desk lid slides side to side; doesn't slide completely open, but I guess that's good in way to prevent everything from falling out. I don't go in there often so it's ok. Overall, I love it.Update: Through my online college life, I have used the desktop's life to the fullest. The foam fillings have flattened out. I still use it but with a pillow underneath. However, it mostly just sits next to my bed now. Perhaps if the maker of the desktop used some type of memory foam or something like that it would be great.
