This is a knitted uterus with a caesarian opening and drawstring top in your choice of colours. You can also choose to add a placenta to go with it; there will be added hook & loop tape inside the uterus to attach the placenta. This ante-natal teaching aid is perfect for teaching how the cervix expands curing labour and birth. It measures approx. 27cm (10.5") across at the widest part and 28cm (11") long. The cuff is approx. 10cm(4") unstretched and considerably wider stretched. I've threaded a ribbon through the cuff; just untie the ribbon and let the doll push the cuff open slowly to show how the cervix stretches during birth. The caesarian opening is approx. 10cm/4" wide and closes with 2 buttons and loops. The drawstring top allows you to put a doll inside without stretching out the cuff too much. It's closed with ribbon. The placenta is approx. 10cm/4" across and 3cm high. The umbilical cord is approx. 30cm /12" long depending on how many twists get sewn into it. There are 2 pieces of hook & loop at the end, one to sew onto a doll's tummy if you wish.
