Great views and advise on backpacking
A very well filmed dvd of Chris Townsend backpacking a route in the Lake district starting and finishing in Keswick.Beautiful views of the mountains mixed with Townsends own thoughts about backpacking and insite for those who wish to participate in this activity, with useful information and suggestions.A worthwhile investment and a good companion to the Cairngorms in Winter dvd also featuring Chris Townsend.A must for any backpacker.

The beautiful Lake District
Love this chap Mr Chris Townsend. Amazing to view his additions to his backpacking adventures. He is a king of backpacking in the United Kingdom and indeed internationally. Defo knows his stuff. He carries a 'tardis' backpack... amazing.!. Fascinating and very beautifully filmed DVD. Certainly one for big screen winter inspiration viewing if (like me) you consider the winter 'off season' for wild camps.

Disappointing audio editing.
This would have been a great film/documentary but it was spoilt by the editing. Music is consistently played throughout the video which is too loud & the narrative can hardly be heard. Disappointing.

Good introduction to backpacking
Good introduction to backpacking but did not give ideas and options about kit and skills such as water and elimination needs. Very nice to watch Chris and the stunning Lake district scenery but he only presented his ideas. After saying that, I would recommend the dvd if his book does not appeal to you. Top notch filming as always from Terry Abraham.
