Podium Microphone Trusner Professional Gooseneck Condenser Conference Microphone

I am by no means an expert in setting up audio systems. I bought this product because I was finding that the microphone I was using with my portable PA system was not effective as a microphone for someone chairing a meeting - not sensitive enough and fiddly to get into the right position to pick up what the chair was saying. I purchased this conference microphone because the specification said that it was sensitive and the effective position for the mic was around 30cm from the user. I chose it ahead of other similar mics because it was much cheaper.Now that I have had the opportunity to use the microphone in a live setting I can say that it does exactly what I wanted. It is sufficiently sensitive that it does not require the user to have it in front to their face all the time and copes well with the user moving their head etc. The quality of sound reproduction is very clear across the range of voices. Of course, because of the mic's sensitivity some care is required in setting it up, but it's not difficult so long as you place the PA speaker in front of and facing away from the mic and adjust the mic volume control on the PA system to get the level right for the room. There is an on-off switch on the microphone base which means the user can switch it off when they are fiddling with papers or talking to someone at their side. It requires a couple of AAA batteries in the base. It is well made, adjustable and the base is sufficiently weighty to stop it from falling over. The mic can be removed from the base for ease of storage and transport. It comes supplied with a long microphone lead with XLR connectors and an additional adapter so that you can convert the XLR connector to a 6.35mm jack connector, which is what I need for my PA system.Overall I am very pleased with this product.

A very good and powerful microphone. My only issue (not having much knowledge in these matters) is that the mic isn`t compatible with other fixed sound outlets in our church, it will only work when used with it`s own base and cable. Not a disaster however.If anyone can tell me why this would be, please do!Thank you.

The media could not be loaded.  The 'CSZ-H50' by Trusner is a very well made condenser microphone which is marketed towards more conference use, though due to the cables and adapters that are included, it has a wide variety of uses.♦ Box Contents & Additional Purchases ♦- Box Contents:∙ Microphone head & stem.∙ Microphone base.∙ XLR extension cable (roughly 6.5 metres!)∙ XLR to 6.3mm jack cable (very short).∙ 6.3mm jack to 3.5mm jack.For this microphone to operate, you will need 2xAAA batteries.♦ Set-Up ♦The set-up process is extremely simple:1) Insert the two AAA batteries needed into the bottom of the main unit.2) Connect the microphone stem into the main unit base.3) If an extension cable is needed, plug this into the rear of the main unit.4) Insert the XLR to 6.3mm jack into either the main unit or extension cord, depending on your set-up.5) If requires, use the included 3.5mm jack adapter.6) Connect the cable to the desired device being used (camera or PC etc...)7) Turn the microphone on via the power button located on the main unit.8) If need be, adjust the microphone settings on the connected device.The bottom part of the microphone stem is a gooseneck, which makes it for better adjustment and the base is rather heavy, so won't slip around when in use.♦ Sound Quality & Final Thoughts ♦With the microphone connected to my camera (A7mii) and the microphone volume/sensitivity adjusted from my camera, the audio came out brilliantly. I have included a video to show this off, however I had placed it a bit too close to my mouth which at times had caused the mic to pick up some unwanted sounds as I accidentally blew into the mic.Bare in mind that this microphone is very sensitive which can result in it picking up other audio sounds if not adjusted properly, but nevertheless the audio quality for peoples voices come out very clear, which I was really pleased about.I have tried this microphone with my Sony A7ii camera, Olympus voice recorder and PC, all of which gave me satisfactory results.This is definitely going to be my go-to microphone when it comes to voice-overs in the future.Overall, this is definitely a product I would recommend.► Disclaimer: I received this product to evaluate and publish a non-biased review.
