Nadolig Tomos!
I would imagine that this must be one of Dylan Thomas's most famous and popular pieces in the entire universe! The best version I ever heard was on BBC Radio 4 years ago and it starred Philip Madoc and Freddie Jones. This audiobook is read by Dylan himself which makes it more real. I'd go as far as to say that this is the Welsh equivalent to Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' in the fact it's a classic.

Dylan Thomas lands a mark on my heart with this.
I doubt anyone could have written a story like this one that contains such mastery of wordplay and narrate in a way that Dylan Thomas himself does. Dylan encapsulates his childhood Christmases in Swansea in a way I can all too happily relate to my own back in Hampshire, and more given his incredible use of language and attention to the nostalgia and longing of every child's sweetest dream or greatest fantasy.

Gets Better Every Year
I've listened at Christmas to this reading by Dylan Thomas of his evergreen Welsh Christmas tale off and on since 1968. It is more magical over time for me. I have given a copy to my Son and his family, and to friends; it has become a favorite for me to give, and indeed for others to receive. It never disappoints. It is an even better gift when accompanied by the book.

I missed it this Christmas but now I've ordered for all my family to enjoy.
It's been a long time since I listened to A Child's Christmas in Wales. I missed it this Christmas but now I've ordered for all my family to enjoy.

The mental pictures drawn are wonderful as is the delivery
It isn't Christmas unless I have listened to this at least once. The mental pictures drawn are wonderful as is the delivery, language and sheer delight it brings especially for one who can remember that far back!

Christmas Reverie
Delightful description of an imagined Christmas past, poetic and humorous, but for me somewhat spoilt by Thomas`s own reading; I find his voice rather dull. In retrospect I wish that I had purchased the version read by Richard Burton. However the joy of the text remains.
