Review: Great Countertop Ice Maker! - We absolutely love this Silonn ice maker. It made the first batch of ice within 6 minutes and hasn’t stopped. We bought this one because it makes the bullet ice (the kind with the hole in the middle) and it doesn’t melt as fast as the nugget ice, that our daughters have, but if your an ice cruncher like me it’s still very easy to crunch. We also like the front handle on the ice basket which makes it so handy when you have to fill the water, you can hold the basket in one hand keeping it over the bucket, so you don’t get water everywhere, and fill it up. It’s not large so it fits nicely on the counter, it’s approximately 9”wide, 11”deep, 11”high, and holds 40oz. of water. It also comes with an ice scooper which fits in the basket handle or you can hang the scoop on the hook that is provided to hang on the side of the machine and it has a water plug on the bottom so it can be emptied after the self clean mode is run. It has a handle that you attach so you can lift the ice maker to where you want it, which is very convenient. I checked a lot of reviews on here and google before deciding on this one and they were all very good. We highly recommend this ice maker.

**Q: Is this ice makers countertop easy to use and clean?**
A: It is super easy to use! 
They tell you to discard the first few sets of cubes if it has not been used in a while since there is no way to clean the innards but the place where the cubes drop when they are made is an easy to clean plastic. The plastic is white so it is very easy to tell if you have it clean or not.

**Q: Can the ice scoop be placed directly in the ice basket?I always have a headache where to put the scoop in my other ice maker machine**
A: Yes, you can certainly place the ice scoop directly in the ice basket. We understand that it can be frustrating to find a suitable spot to place the scoop in other ice maker machines,we have designed our ice basket with a built-out handle that can also be used to hold the scoop. **Q: how do i use the drain hole when I want to empty out water?**
A: You have to put the entire unit in the sink. Open the drain plug on the bottom and let the water drain out. I manually clean the unit and just let it drain for a little while in one side of my sink. Hope this helps. I just love this ice maker!

We bought this because we needed a bigger ice maker. The ones we had prior worked fine just did not make enough for our household needs. Set up was quite easy. It takes 1 gallon of water to fill. That last quite awhile in our house. It makes alot of ice. It is pretty big but we made it work for us. It isnt to loud. All in all it looks good and works great!
