Definitely a MUST READ!!
I absolutely love this poet and love every word / phrase and sentence in this book!! I read this with my husband, and read a few of the ones which we were appropriate for kids to my children. It sparked a lot of conversations about our culture, heritage and aspects of Ghanaian life I had long forgotten about. For anyone interested in Ghanaian culture or just reading beautiful poetry, this is a must read! My favourite poem in here has to be ‘The Departure’ I felt it deeply. Thank you, Tina Abena Oforiwa. Thank you.

A beautiful collection
Tina Abena Oforiwa is certainly one of my favourite Contemporary African Poets. This collection is so full of life and colour! As someone of African descent, I could relate to and visual so much of what I read. My favourite poems would have to be 'The Kiss', 'Rug Burns', 'The End' and 'Letters to Akosua' to name a few. Simply beautiful.

Beautifully written
This was such a good read especially considering I have never really been into poetry. It is beautifully written and so easy to relate to. I'm really looking forward to more work from this author.

This was an amazing read. We thank you for speaking for us
This collection of poems are very moving and speak to the African girl in me who had to navigate the minefield of identity. Being brought up in the west I felt somehow distanced from my African heritage and these poems speaks to the little girl lost in me. Well done Tina Abena Oforiwa! I look forward to reading more of your stories. This was an amazing read. We thank you for speaking for us.

A wonderful collection of poems written with raw emotion
A wonderful collection of poems written with raw emotion. Touching on various topics such as the struggles of leaving your home country for another, something which I could identify with. My favourite is The Departure. Can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

ENJOY!
This is a well written thought provoking compilation of poems. Some of the poems will bring back memories for some ghanaians as Tina takes you back to Ghana in addition to real life struggles. ENJOY!
