works well, quiet
I noticed that the finish on my floor was disappearing as my chair rolled back and forth. Added these covers and quite a difference in stress on floor. It took some doing to put them on but soaked each one in hot water first. the secret was getting one edge under the wheel cover, then it went on much easier. Be sure to notice which direction you are trying to put them on. The wheels are quiet now. Am going to put a thin layer or two of varnish on the area of the floor that is changing. Will have to see how effective they are over time. Have already bought a second set for another chair.

Buyer beware, description not accurate
I bought these thinking that if my caster wheels were 2", surely I could stretch these covers to fit on them snuggly as the range says 1-3/4 to 2-1/8. This despite the other reviews noting how difficult they were to put on. I assumed they were reaching the extreme end of the range at the time. Wrong. I tried putting them in hot water, holding the wheel stems in a vice, and using pliers. They're essentially thick molded rubber circles that doen't stretch at all which I'd bet is for durability. They're approximately molded for smaller 1-3/4" wheels much like you see in their pictures. It's simply not sold according to the description with the range in sizes. So beware, you'll spend $$$ shipping them to your place only to have to spend $$$ shipping them back if you don't have smaller wheels. Better to try to buy them locally before wasting your time and money on the current seller.

Placement requires some effort for 2-inch wheels
I used these wheel covers to rehabilitate 2-inch nylon twin wheel casters hat suffered abrasions from being rolled on outdoors concrete, making them prone to scratching laminate floor surfaces. If your hands are arthritic you'll probably have a bad time putting these on. Fortunately, they provide a snug fit after placement so they don't seem likely to fall off.As the instructions state, heat them up in hot water (tap water is sufficient) so they are more pliable before putting these on larger-sized wheels.I did notice that 5 of these wheel covers had several millimeters more of material on the inner edge of the wheel cover than the remaining 5 covers, so you may need to pair them up to account for this "extra lip" so that the wheels spin freely after placement. These wheel covers provide more resistance to rolling, dampening the rolling sound and making it very difficult to move the chair while seated. In the long term, it remains to be seen if the wheel cover protection plus the reduced movement will lead to reduced scuffing of the floor.Surprised that these seem to be the only product of its type available through Amazon Prime (i.e., no multiple "unbranded" wheel covers sourced from China.) Even more surprised these are "Made in the USA" as stated on the box.Saves me the trouble of putting down a floor mat protector or buying replacement casters with polyurethane wheels and wasting otherwise usable nylon casters.

These only fit standard casters
If people can get these to stretch over 2” wheels I would like to see how they do it. These have little to no stretch. I don’t know if I got a bad product or what, but they’re difficult to get on a 1 3/4” wheel, let alone anything bigger. Cool concept, but I wish they made them stretchier. I won’t be able to use these on the item I intended to use them for but will put them on my desk chair instead.

Worked wonders for my dinette chair!
I had recently purchased an older well-made dinette set with casters on each chair. Upon use, we noticed some of the plastic casters were cracking and crumbling apart on the outer sides. I was upset to see new casters are very high priced, & the ones I have are an unusual stem width. So this was a possible option I saw, & liked that it would be gentler on my hardwood floors. I wish they were cheaper priced for what they are, but I purchased one set to try it out first. As others said, I soaked them in warm water to soften, and although it takes some time to get them on evenly (about 30 minutes per one chair for me), I didn't break a nail, but my nail polish got worn off a couple of my fingers I used to stretch them around the wheel. They fit great, roll smoothly & quietly. I don't think they will move around, seems to be on very tightly in place. I'm very pleased & will order more for the other chairs!

This is an awful, unusable product.
I used this product on 2 inch wheels - well within the 2 1/8 recommended. It took me hours to get them on for one desk chair with 5 wheels. The chair wouldn't roll properly, and 2 of them fell off within days. I gave up and bought new wheels instead. Complete waste of money.

Installs in seconds? Your timing device must not work correctly.
While I don't doubt that these will work well now that they are installed, the installation process is rough. I really enjoyed that the manufacturer claims these install in seconds... they don't. Wrestling with these creates fun injuries like broken fingernails and bruised fingers as you try in vain to stretch them. The best tip was soaking them in warm water (insert sarcastic tone). This is great because it makes the tiny wheel prophylactics still hard to stretch while exponentially adding to the difficulty to install by making them slippery. If you want to be cruel, gift these to one of your happy go lucky friends who never seem to be down. Sit back and watch the meltdown. On the plus side, our hardwood floor is happy about the sacrifices we made to install these.

The chair rolls fine over the hardwood floor
These things work really well. And they are not difficult to install if you soften them up a bit.I filled a large coffee mug with warm tap water and then microwaved it for one minute. Next I dropped half the rings into the water. After about 30 seconds I pulled out a ring, shook the excess water off, and looped it over one caster. My 9-year old daughter was watching and wanted to try it. So she did. Took her about a minute longer than my effort, but she's only nine. Cut her some slack. In the end, it took me about 15 minutes to install all ten rings. The chair rolls fine over the hardwood floor, too. No problem.
