E-Magnets SWEEP400 Magnetic Sweeper

This arrived today, took it out and tried it at a new house - it picked up a variety of pointy objects on just a small section of gravel. Final collection was many times the picture, gathered on a single pass without raking - intend to rake and try again soon.The release feature is excellent, making it easy to drop into a bucket regularly. To much on the head means a reduced pick up, so dropping frequently is a good idea.

After the second puncture in 1 month it decided to try this product.If I am honest I was VERY dubious about this product especially on a gravel drive but was pleasantly surprised.Ran over first pass and after a few pings found a multitude of rusty nails. The house is old and a previous owner had carried out considerable renovations which meant that many very pointy wood nails were picked up.Ran over the area 2 or 3 times over the next few weeks and still picked up more.I’m sure it works very well on concrete or stone floors, but on gravel it’s a bit more tricky. So the tip on gravel is to make sure you repeat multiple times and move the gravel around between passes.Would recommend this product for anyone with a drive as we found some very unexpected find from the previous owner.

lightweight but not strong enough.

What a find! We have had lots of building work done and this even picked up rusty nails buried in the drive gravel. Highly recommended.

Broke after under a minute, released 3 times and struggled to pick more than 3 nails up, then the release handle snapped inside. Wasn't worth the effort even to get it to where I needed I needed it

I ran this over my drive and picked up some hair grips. The act of checking my drive with this did reveal several screws that I happened to see but sadly this didn't pick them up. Where screws are on a carpet or flat surface this is fine and indeed useful for when you lose a small item in a deep carpet however, it failed its primary job of sweeping my gravel drive.

As a model engineer a lot of steel and iron swarf ends up on my garage floor. The E-Magnets Magnetic Sweeper picks up all ferrous swarf and filings left behind after brushing and vacuuming. I have been impressed by what the Magnetic Sweeper quickly picks up after a conventional sweep up using a dustpan and brush, also what it picked up from door mats. The Magnetic Sweeper has a release mechanism, after use hold the sweeper over a bin and release the swarf without touching it, I thoroughly recommend this product, I should have bought one sooner and avoided being told off for swarf that found it's way into the house!

Works amazingly well, very impressed. My only criticism is that the twist pole to extend or collapse the handle mechanism is easily accidentally engaged when using the sweeper particularly when turning it which is a bit annoying as you have to stop and try to tighten it into the locked extended position again.
