Works for me!! I love it!
I've had chronic pain for 50 years so believe me when I say I've tried just about everything. I've been using the Quell for just under a year and I'm a believer!!I loaned it to a family member who was in severe pain. While I was glad to help them out I REALLY missed my Quell. I finally asked them to send it back because I was missing it so much. I guess I didn't realize HOW much of a help it was until I didn't have it anymore! The closest thing I can describe this to is a TENS/EMS device. This isn't really the same. I've used TENS/EMS devices and they worked okay. They've never helped me the way that the Quell does. Personally, this is way better for me. The Quell is different. For me I say it's more of a distraction - it distracts me from the pain I'm in. It's not taking the pain away. Hope that makes sense. One of the ways the Quell is different - For one you don't wear it where the actual pain is. It's similar to an ace bandage in that it wraps around your leg, just below your knee. You place it there no matter what type of pain you have. You can switch between legs throughout the day. There is a button on the device to turn it on and off and increase or decrease the intensity, but I really suggest using the App.Another way it's different from a TENS/EMS is the actual stimulation. It's a different type of "tapping" for one. I much more prefer it over a TENS.The number one thing I love about Quell is that it's cordless!! I can wear it anywhere and anytime. (Except in water!!) If I want to go for a walk or I need to go to the store, or out for dinner, etc. I can wear it! I've even started going on short hikes and wear it!THE APP -The Quell has a really well developed FREE App. (I prefer to use the app.) The app works on iPhones and androids. It's very easy to set up. The Quell comes with a little booklet that's very easy to understand and if you use the app, it has a lot of videos that walk you through the process. I really like the app as you can see how much time is left before it comes on again or how long before it's going to turn off and rest. You can set it to run for 30 min with a 30 min rest or 60 min with a 30 min rest. If I'm having a really bad day I can press start sooner before the 30 minutes rest is up. The app gives you total control. You can easily change the intensity of you need to. There are several variables for type of stimulation, etc.The App also tracks your sleep, if you wear the device while sleeping. It'll tell you how many times you moved around, got out of bed, slept on your right side, left side or back. I'm not sure it's totally accurate but it's interesting and it does match up if I've had a really bad night. It also tracks your walking, although I don't think that works well at all.I also like the app because I can change the stimulation easily. Technically you're supposed to calibrate it and then leave it alone and most of the time I don't ever have to meet with it, but there are days!!! I think it's a good idea to run through the calibration process again if you feel like it's not working the way you want. When I'm having a bad week I'll adjust the calibration by going through the set up process again. The app also tells you when you need to either take the device off and air out your leg or switch legs. You can also keep track of pain levels and when you need to replace the electrode pad. I would recommend that everyone use the app. It just makes it so much easier to use and keep track of everything.THE ELECTRODES -I do have to say that the replacement electrodes are expensive. They're about $30 a month. You get two electrode pads. I've had a few months where I needed three pads because I wore the device a lot. I prefer the white/clear Sport pads over the blue Regular pads. I've got really dry skin and I live in a warmer climate. You don't have to use an electrode gel but you might find it helpful. My best advice is to gently peel the electrodes off your leg because the gel does stick some. Take care of the electrodes and they'll last longer. Cover them up when your not using them and store them in a bag of some kind. I have had some itching, but I believe that's due to wearing it too long and not giving my leg a rest. I do think shaving the area would help for those who are having issues with zaps and maybe try a TINY bit of electrode gel.Things I love:-It helps me!!-Cordless-The app-Battery lasts a long time-Can use while I'm sleeping-Easy to useThings I don't love-Electrodes aren't cheap-It doesn't fit under all of my pants- - You have to wear looser pants or shortsIf you have chronic pain give this a try. It comes with a trial period so you have nothing to lose. It's not an inexpensive device but I use it. A lot. I can't say it's taken away my pain or that I've cut way back on my meds but it helps get me through the day and night - that's worth the price alone.I would buy it again. I will buy it again when this one finally quits working!!

Band quality
So far so good in the pain zone but very disappointed with the band quality the first only lasted 3 days although I let the glue relies by way of gravity only so not to pull the sticky pads off the band but they still came apart and when trying to reuse felt like burning not pleasant. 2nd band close to failing 3 days.

Works great, but....
I've been using the Quell for 2 months now and I can honestly say that it has definitely help with my arthritic and joint pain. At a recent week long event, I logged an average of walking 10-12 miles a day for the week. Previously to using the Quell, I would not have been able to do that. Just being able to be active again has allowed me to finally be nearly pain and stiffness free. The one negative I encountered is the electrode strap that you have to purchase. They are not cheap and can be costly over time. I was using the sport version and found that the manufacturer applied gel on them lasted a day or two at most. When you would take the band off, much of the gel would either stick to your leg or simply fall off in chunks. Not having sufficient gel left when you put it back on after showering would cause burning or very uncomfortable stinging. If you have hairy legs, it might help if you shaved the area when you strap the Quell on. I tried a combination of loosening and tightening the strap, but nothing worked. When I purchased the Quell on Amazon, I was presented with the option to add a bottle of Spectra 360 Gel to my order. Not knowing anything about how the electrodes worked, I went ahead and bought it. After going through so many of the sport electrodes, I remembered I bought the gel and decided to give it a try. I took one of my old discarded electrode strap and cleaned it and than applied a small dab of gel on each pad and spread it thinly to cover each of the electrode pads. I strapped the Quell back on my leg and I noticed immediately that it worked just as good as a brand new electrode without the mess and was more comfortable. It comes off easily with no mess and I get a much better contact between my skin and the electrode so I don't get a rash, burns or any stinging affects. I have now used a single electrode for over a month and it works just as good now as the first day I used it. I wouldn't be surprised if it could last for months without having to replace.I wear my Quell all day and night. My routine is to take it off before showering and clean the pads with a alcohol prep swab and than dry them off with a clean tissue. After my shower, apply a dab of gel to each electrode pad again and strap it back on. This is a great money saver. I have no intention of purchasing any more unless they physically stop working or I notice that the intensity has lessen. So far, over a month on one and it works like it did day one! Good luck with yours!
