The Times Britain’s Best Walks: 200 Classic Walks from the Times Hardcover – 6 Oct. 2016

Expensively produced, rather 'flowery' overly eloquent style of writing, but, nevertheless overall quite nice. But, sadly flawed in more than one way, for a start, make sure your glasses are to hand before opening, the route descriptions are in very small print, which annoyingly frequently disappears down into the centre binding stitching of the book, necessitating you squashing the book flat on the table to follow the line of writing. That in itself is far from good. Next, the route diagrams too are annoyingly small. The pictures are not of 'Dorling Kindersley' quality so don't expect bright sharp clear images, they are nice, but frequently overly large, for instance on page 133 the entire page is taken up / wasted, with a Highland cow mooing. There are more examples similar.....Finally, it is a heavy item at a measured 1Lb 9ozs, but, you'll need a rucksack to carry it in anyway, as measuring 6 7/8 by 8 3/8 inches it's too big to go in your walking jacket pocket...In summary, very expensively produced, but poor in design layout, really, a coffee table book to impress your friends.

Bought this as a gift and the recipient loved it. She enjoys walking all over England, so I purchased this for her as I thought it would expand her horizions (so to speak).

Lovely book this. Great suggestions, great pictures, Good information and nicely presented. Looking forward to using this to inspire us for some nice walking weekends away.

Excellent review of 200 walks around Britain - in a perfect world would have like a few more illustrations but this would be just the cherry on top.

Had a quick flick through before wrapping, seems informative - just hope that, unlike whe using a sat nav - my husband follows the instructions when using and we dot get lost! Detail seems good, has suggestions for a place to eat and drink enough route so hoping it will be a useful guide.

This was a retirement present. The recipient loved it as it’s a good way to plan trips in the Uk and then look up walks in the local area. Very nicely laid out with detailed descriptions of walks and pictures. Would recommend.

Bought for a gift but was tempted to keep for myself- a great collection of circular walks with maps and descriptions. Book segregated into areas of the UK for ease of finding a nearby walk. Definitely a good gift for someone who enjoys a ramble!

Bought for my daughter for birthday. Idea is to do them all. Nice walks, very clear to understand. Its a lovely keepsake.
