Review: Brilliant. - Cuts like slicing butter. I will be using these for my forest school, once I have raised the funds I will be getting more for the kids.
Review: Good quality and robust - very easy to swap blades - I've been using this for three weeks and so far so good. The saw came with a blade for dry wood (top blade in picture) so purchased a extra blade for fresh wood (bottom blade in picture - notice the extra gaps between teeth which make all the difference on damp wood). The blades take a minute to swap and make a big difference - just tighten up before use. Make sure you use the right blade unless its the odd one off. Cut like butter so treat it with respect. The safety strip pulls down about 1/2 way so it is easy to slip on blade when no in use (not obvious at first). Use a little oil or WD40 to keep it clean and rust free.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does it cut down trees ok**
A: Yes it will. In fact it was able to cut down a bay tree that our neighbours chainsaw couldn't touch because the blade for that kept going blunt and he ended up buying 2 new ones and then gave up! My husband says the blade is a little bendy and therefore doesn't cut completely straight. But it's brilliant for cutting logs and wet wood. Hope that helps Elizabeth D.

**Q: Could i purchase a replacement blade cover. Mine seems to have gone AWOL somewhere.**
A: If you have tried Amazon without finding one try B&Q or Google it. Other than that I do not know, sorry.

**Q: Where can I get spare 30inch blades**
A: TOOLDEN OR EBAY JUST PUT 30INCH BAHCO BOW SAW BLADES INTO YOUR SEARCH BAR

**Q: does the saw blade tensioner work like the old hacksaw adjuster?**
A: There is a screw fitting under the handle.. I loosen it each time I finish using it and tighten it up next time, it really is straightforward

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trees watch out!
*by G***R on 13 November 2012*

With the wife having an opinion on just about everything that doesn't affect her, I needed a method of chopping down trees that requires little set up, is quiet and quick. I bought this beauty having read other reviews and chatting to some friends who backed up the positive view of Bahco products (although no one agrees how to pronounce it). My investigation lead me to purchase the 23-30 Raker Tooth blade in addition to the one supplied as the supplied blade is set for cutting dry wood and I need to chop down live (green) wood. I considered knocking a star off for the fact that I couldn't find a combination of saw with the blade I wanted to begin with, but I will need both blades eventually if I end up cutting up dry logs (so I have assumed the supplied blade will perform as well as the other one I bought). Before I bought this saw, I would have to use an old petrol chainsaw that my best friend has loaned me. Consequently, the wife would usually be out voicing her opinion as soon as she'd hear me starting the chainsaw. That in turn led to fewer trees being chopped down and me having to return to the house to watch some appalling American TV show about vampires. Now, I can offer her a cup of tea whilst she watches the telly, sneak out the backdoor to the shed to get the saw and tension it, come back inside to fill the teapot, then nip back out run down the garden chop down a tree and run back in time to pour the tea and deliver it. Sometimes I'm asked "What was that noise?" to which I respond that I've been splitting logs and I head back out to fetch a couple in whilst at the same time taking the saw back to the shed, de-tensioning it and giving it a clean. The wife has never noticed that the trees are getting thinner, but she is enjoying the extra firewood and light in to the garden. Fair play to her though, she noticed that it is hard work cutting logs with a bow saw so she bought me an electric chainsaw for my birthday and she's been cute enough not to buy an extension lead that would allow me to get down the garden with it. I have used this saw to chop down trees with trunks up to about 24" wide (the big ones have been in consultation with the wife) and whilst this does require a bit of effort it is well within the capability of the saw. I'm not a great fan of climbing trees with a petrol chainsaw so I prefer to take this up with me to thin branches out before felling the tree (or just to thin them). Using the bow saw is also a good bit of exercise. I usually chop the tree into movable chunks with the bow saw and then I cart them up to the drive to cut them and split them into logs for the fire. I do use the petrol chainsaw to chop up the bigger trees. I don't find a 'log splitting grenade' any more useful than a normal wedge (I've never managed to split a log in 4, but it does never get jammed). I also find a normal felling axe to be equally as efficient as a maul for splitting logs. A small hand axe is also required for chopping up kindling. The construction of the saw is first class. The tensioning mechanism is robust and the hand guard is strong enough to withstand the occasional impact it should receive and more.
