Westlands Horticulture Ltd Peckish 12.75Kg Winter Warmer Bird Seed Mix

I thought i would try this for a change last week and my oh my . ..the little birds love it..I am looking out of my window at around 40 sparrows all queuing up to use the 2 feeders. I also find robins and goldfinch feeding.. Interestingly enough the starling who used to flock here dont seem too fond of this which to me is a bonus. The pigeons also are not hanging around quite as much so all good but the dunnocks like it..so I am hoping it will attract a few more of the smaller species over the coming months .

I have been using this for a few years now, and must be on my 20somethingth bag. I can't praise it enough. Pigeons, Doves, Blackbirds, Starlings, Robins, Sparrows, coal, Great and blue Tits, Gold finch, wren etc etc all swarm over my garden. I usually "Nuke" the seed for a few minutes before I put it out for the birds, that reduces the amount of germination. But a full five stars.... only because they don't do six.

Our local sparrows and robins have all raised several young this year rather than the usual one brood per pair we usually see. It`s been an absolute joy watching them and assorted finches arriving mob-handed all jockeying good naturedly for a place on the trellis awaiting their turn.at the feeders. Any seed that drops is eagerly hoovered up by dunnocks, starlings, blackbirds and other assorted ground feeding birds.We tried to change from the `winter` mix over the summer months. Starlings, magpies, jackdaws and woodpigeons were happy enough with the new seed but the small birds went on an all-out strike until we gave in.We`ve tried many different types of seed in the birdfeeders over the years, some far more successful than others, but the Winter Warmer seed mix wins hands down in the popularity stakes." Winter" mix or not, it`s definitely the all - year round choice of seed with our local bird population.

This Peckish Warmer Wild Bird Seed is definitely the favourite of Blackbirds, Robins, Blue Tits and other birds that visit my garden - the feeding tray is clean in a very short space of time. In addition, the Carotenoids in the mix help develop feather colours and prevent damage by the sun; Calcium supports bone/feather growth as well as egg production; whilst Vitamins A,D,E and Biotin strengthen beaks/bones and help growth/reproduction.I use this feed for both ground and table feeding and having tried a number of other varieties it's obvious that this is certainly a favourite as there's virtually no waste. The 12.75Kg bag offers good value and lasts a long time - the BBE date on my pack delivered in mid April 2017 is 16 months ahead.

Tried the cheaper Peckish but the birds went on strike and wouldn't eat it, minute I want back to Winter warmer they all flocked back, blue tits, great tits and coal tits all very happy once again, I use it all seasons now and this is a huge sack with a resealable top so should last a while and good value compared to smaller packs.
