This really is an easy to use, helpful bible, put into time order, so it helps us to see what happened when in a time line. Just as easy to read as the usual NIV bible as it uses the same translation.

An interesting and new way of reading through all 66 books that make up the Bible - in the date order of events that occurred historically.It surprised me how different authors of the same event brought slightly different insights, but none conflicted with each other. And how cohesive the entire collection of books is, in that Jesus's presence is evident throughout the narratives - both in the old and new testaments.I have been astonished at the insightful and intellectual depths of John, Peter and Paul (in their highly-articulate writings) but came to realise that these abilities and gifts were theirs by the grace of God, so found that it was actually God speaking to me through their words.I recommend this book with its datelines, maps, explanations and helpful illustrations. It's no exaggeration that it has been transformative to me by bringing me closer to Jesus, and made me more determined than ever to follow Him more closely and to grow in maturity. I'm going to read it cover-to-cover again in 2022!

This version of the bible is incredible. I've been working through it daily for 4 months now. I can truly say that because of this bible, I am now passionate about my bible reading, I've learnt the value and importance of the written Word and my life has been transformed by incorporating this discipline into my life. The book is chronological, so it is written in the order of how things took place and is quite like reading a novel!!! The authors have a reflection paragraph at the end of each days' read, which help sum up the context of the scriptures you've read, and I also find it really encouraging at the end of each month they seem to congratulate you for achieving a milestone! Every now and then they have the odd page which shows the history or facts of that era which helps put things into context. I don't have a bad word to say about it. I've been a Christian all my life, but never been a bible reader - I've always viewed the bible as old, irrelevant (can YOU relate to being a fisherman?), a tad boring and difficult to read and understand. This has transformed my life!! I'm so grateful. Yes it takes determination to read through the boring bits (hey, Numbers is never a hoot!) but that discipline pays off. It's now part of my daily life and I am so thrilled to actually know what is in this precious book. very rarely I will fall behind, but just pray about it and God helps you somehow catch up and make the time.

Now we have the revised and updated , anglicised NIV edition which really brings this bible book classic into the 21st century . The reason why I call this book a classic is because it offers the reader a perfectly good bible , but with one major difference ! When you purchase any ordinary bible from a bookshop or online , it appears in canonical form . However , in order to fully appreciate the true history behind the scripture , reading all biblical events as and when they actually happened in the correct order , provides a greater sense of understanding the Holy Bible as the written word of God ! So now , if you wish to read scripture in the precise order , choose chronological !

Best way to read the whole Bible in a year in a chronological manner that gives you a daily thought / personal application .If your motivated you can get through the challenges of the Old Testament readings knowing that they all fit into a bigger unfolding context. Once read may you be compelled by a greater hunger and thirst as so to reread each year one now is a habitual reader who finds new questions , learning and perspectives . Very motivational!

I love the way this is put together. Such a helpful way to read a very familiar book. Helped me to get an overview and timeline like never before. I would highly recommend it!

Probably the best way, yet, of reading the complete Bible without losing heart by 'Numbers'! Because it takes the books of the Bible in chronological order - when they were written - and presents these in daily readings, together with a thought provoking comment from Selwyn Hughes at the end of each day. There are also charts showing journeys, or the route of the Exodus, and lists of kings and prophets; so this book becomes an essential reference tool as well as a year-long, easy read, or the whole Bible. I really do recommend it, and, having read it all through once, will begin again from January 1st, so I slowly absorb the Word of God into my life!

Reading through for the fourth year , what can I say - God's Word is so amazing.. Reading each word I am blown away by what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will continue to do for all of us for all time.I pray that should you read this and Jesus is not currently in your life that you step out in faith and purchase this, or another Bible, and that you grow to know and love our Lord Jesus Christ, for He already knows and loves YOU so so much.
