Franklin Sensors ProSensor 710+ 13-Sensor Stud Finder Wall Scanner

Used it to find ceiling joists behind plasterboard, haing failed with other devices. Success. Particularly liked the way lights showed the width of the joists, giving confidence about putting fixings into the centre of the joist. Worth the expense.

The most important piece of information is: it actually works. After struggling with some cheap product for a while I decided to take a hit, write-off the cheap one (couldn't return anymore), and decided to but this one. I'm happy. Detects studs like there is no tomorrow ;-)

The finder can do the job in most cases. However, the LED array indication is confusing, as when I move the finder's button detection surface in one direction, some LEDs become inconsistent.

Great stud finder. Works flawlessly on normal stud walls. It gave some spurious results when using on cement board but normal walls it's 100%

Very disappointed in this product. Top of the range (so called) and most expensive. I had a better result from the strong magnet to pick up nails. Everywhere it showed a stud there was nothing behind the plasterboard. The product (get out of jail) disclosure on the crib sheet says it cannot be relied on alone to locate studs due to differing materials used in the makeup of the enclosed Wall. Save your money and get a strong magnet as that will at least find the nails. It really isn't worth the money. Most modern Plasterboards and stud walls can have metalised membranes to prevent damp transfer also some soundproofing material can be a factor in giving misleading readings. I now have holes all over my Wall where this tool indicates studs that were not there. Easy to read easy to use but not very accurate I'm afraid. Save your money!

Read/watched tons of reviews on this and it seemed to be the best choice for the money (although still quite expensive) only used it a handful of times but so far it has located the studs I was looking for behind the plasterboard. so far so good, easy to use.

This is a very good stud finder, overall it will give you consistent results. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the flashing lights between studs (as you can see in the video), I am not sure if it is expected, if there's something behind that wall causing that or if it is a defective, I watched a review on YouTube which the guy said he got a replacement due to this and the replacement did not behave like this, so not sure...I don't regret buying at all, but I will keep using my magnetic one along with this Franklin. Better safe than sorry when you are wall mounting 75" tvs.

Don't be fooled by those little $12 -$20 "stud finders" with the fancy displays and bells and whistles. They don't work. But this unit isn't like that. This is a more expensive, PROFESSIONAL QUALITY stud finder that works! Instead of a fancy display, this unit just has a row of LEDs that light up when they pass over a wall stud. Simple, effective, and from what I've seen, always correct. It's become one of my most-valued tools. No lie.
