I do not understand the negative reviews. Here is what you get: the hooks are made of aluminum and have the professional brushed aluminum look that is currently popular in refrigerators, etc. The hooks are smaller than similar hooks in overall size at about 2 1/4 inches. The hook is sturdy, but you can grab it and bend it, which can be very useful if you need a certain gap, as I did in using these to hold pot lids to a cabinet door. The sticky foam backing is classic 3M, so reports of these hooks not sticking would apply to anything that uses this backing. Mine stuck tight when applied and have remained so for about a week. I suppose if one detaches I will buy the 3M stuff and reattach it.

These are great for small projects. I use in my shower and in and outside of my RV. I find them to hold 2-3lbs. They seem to stick to any surface.

I've been using them to hang my little children's winter coats on. So far they've been holding up well.
