10 PCS WLC100 ST Soldering Tips Replace on SP40L SP40N WP25 WP30 WP35 WLC100

I bought these for a Weller WLC100 soldering station that has an SPG40 iron. They seem to be as well made as the original Weller tips. The chrome plating on the shafts looks great, and the tips are nicely tinned at the tip. I tried the very smallest and the very largest tip in the set. Both heated at least as quickly as the originals, if not faster, not that the SPG40 is a speed demon heating up, but I was able to solder in about 1 minute. I used Kester 60/40 rosin core .050" solder. Once the iron was heated, I was able to solder at the 3-3.5 setting on the dial without any problems. I soldered 12 gauge wire with the large tip (4.2mm screwdriver tip) and 18 gauge wire with the smallest (.2mm conical tip). Normally I would not use that small of a tip for 18 gauge wire, but it worked holding it parallel to the wire without a problem. Hopefully they will last for years if properly taken care of, and far less expensive then the originals. I received these tips on Sunday 9-21-20 and I was pleased of the speed of processing and delivery of the order. Soldering tips alone are difficult to find in retail stores. Most stores sell the complete unit, which I do not need, as I have three of various wattage. Finding these at Amazon was a pleasant suprise. Because the tips that I was currently using had worn out, I immediately installed one in a Weller SD-40 soldering gun. The tip heated more quickly than I expected. I have been using the new tips to solder 24 guage wire that I use to connect LED lamps on a HO train layout to a DC power unit. These tips are terrific to use due to the precise size of the tip and the speed of which they heat. Tips arrived tinned and fit the iron perfectly. I would say they heat up as quickly as the OE tips and retain heat about the same. I have not used them enough yet be able to speak to longevity. No complaints so far.
