... supermarket to sharpen my knives however was never fully satisfied with how sharp the would get
I've been using a cheap knife sharpener that I got from a supermarket to sharpen my knives however was never fully satisfied with how sharp the would get. Especially the smaller thinner blades. This sharpener does an amazing job of sharpening even the dullest and biggest of my knives. I find the two stage approach is great with one sharpening wheel for the dull blades and the other to really refine the sharpening and ensure the blade is sharp. I've used this on every knife I have without any issues all leaving them sharp and making it far easier to cut tomatoes. All round good product.

Very good quality knife sharpener!
We have had a few very blunt knives in our kitchen for a while now, and I purchased this knife sharpener to finally whip them into shape! I've tried a couple of knife sharpeners in the past, but they haven't done a great job.I'm very pleased with this knife sharpener. It sits on the countertop easily thanks to the rubber grips on the bottom and has a handle to hold while sharpening. There's two different slots: using the coarse one to "fix" blunt knives, running them through 5 or 6 times was enough, then the fine one is for refining the edges of the knives to make (and keep!) them razor sharp.I now keep this out on the counter as a reminder to keep the knifes sharp. It looks stylish and is very good quality. Much better than some of the "cheap" ones I've used in the past!

A USEFUL KITCHEN TOOL
1 / This two stage knife sharpener is sold through Amazon at a cost of £9.98 which includes delivery for Amazon Prime Members. There is no indication as to the potential additional postage charge in regard to non amazon prime members.2 / An important factor that a buyer NEEDS to know is that the purchase, (The sharpener) was delivered quickly, further comments about delivery and packaging are prohibited by Amazon.3 / The sharpener comes in it's own stout box, unsuitable for storage except in limited circumstances with a small instructions booklet written in five languages being English, German, French, Spanish and italian.4 / The sharpener has the two grades of sharpener marked on it in faint print. In order, they are marked 1 and 2. I think it likely that the writing will fade / disappear with use and cleaning over time.5 / INSTRUCTIONS THE "DO NOT SECTION" (taken from the instruction manual) DO NOT use with sawtooth, rusty, chipped or damaged knives,6 / Slot 1 is closest to the handle. Slot 2 is furtherest from the handle. The Coarse Sharpening Slot (1) despite the do not section in the instruction booklet is described as "ideal to repair slight blade damage". The Fine Sharpening Slot (2) is described as to "Use to refine the sharpness of the blade"7 / TO USE Place the knife sharpener on a flat surface, a cutting board is my ideal recommendation. Make sure that the knife is clean and dry. Hold the handle firmly. THE SHARPENER IS SUITABLE FOR BOTH LAFT AND RIGHT HANDED. Place the knife blade in your chosen slot, press down and slowly draw the knife through the slot, keeping it level, 3 - 5 times. Allow for a curve if necessary by following the curvature of the blade. Wipe, clean knife before using it for its, intended purpose as there might be fillings on the blade. The manual states that this is a normal reaction to sharpening a knife.8 / The sharpener body is of a plastic material. It is however robust and feels fairly solid.9 / It is easy to hold. I use UK size 10 gloves to give you a guide size of my hands. Normal for a man sized man in this part of the world.10 / I have tried the sharpener on some old Sabatier knives.11 / I regard the cost of this as fairly typical. I would not want to use something such as this on good quality knives such as Global but I see this as perfectly fine for use on older kitchen knives, penknives and similar. It could be a cheap solution as opposed to new knife purchases.12 / I hope that you have found this review to be of assistance. Please click on the helpful review button. This is such a great knife and scissor sharpener
This is such a great knife and scissor sharpener, it came well packed in a neat box. well presented. i have ben after a decent knife sharpener for ages, this one is easy to use and has a sleek design that goes with my kitchen. it is very easy to use and sharpens knives and scissors brilliantly.it has directional arrows to show you which way you should pull the knife through, and is easy to hold, it has grips on the bottom so it doesn't slide along the counter while sharpening and only takes a few pulls through it to get the knife very sharp again.this is one of the best knife sharpeners i have used. and it is also a lot safer than quite a few out there which required the knife to be help on the counter and the sharpener pull over it. which always ended up with me getting a few nics. This one i do not have to worry and it doesn't take a lot of pressure either, so great for people with wreak hands and/or wrists and who are looking for a safe and effective sharpener
