Buried treasure for Culture Club fans!
I grabbed a copy of this collection as it included the first appearance on CD of the "White Boy" and "I'm Afraid Of Me" extended mixes, two 12" gems from the days when Culture Club was as cool as The Clash (well, maybe Bow Wow Wow perhaps!). I didn't really pay much attention to the rest of the content, I presumed it would be a typical collection of 12" mixes that has been rereleased many times before. However, I think anyone who is remotely intersted in Cutlture Club needs to know about some of the rare gems that are inlcuded here.God bless Blank & Jones, they're reconstructed "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" and "Time (Clock Of The Heart)" to merge the vocal and instrumental versions that used to live on opposite sides of the 7". And they've done a great job of it. So, here you have new extended versions of two of Culture Club's best hits. I may cry! Add to this a rare extended version of "Miss Me Blind" (that doesn't morph into "It's A Miracle" half way through) and a hard to find long version of "The Medal Song".It's a must have for fans. You know who you are!

Excellent sound Quality, and great Remixes, some rare and hard to find, and some new re-made mixes
I think this is one of my all-time favorite remix album, and I own a lot.The sound quality is better on this release than any copies of Culture Club remix albums you will find.Blank & Jones re-make and remix two tracks here, and they are excellent.Do You Really Want To Hurt Me has been remixed by Blank & Jones and they basically start the song with the original except when the instrumental ends it slides right into the remixed Dub version from the original 1982 remix. We end up with a proper extended version, finally. This song should have been mixed this way in the first place. The same with Time (Clock Of The Heart), once again Blank & Jones take the original and extend it. This time they start with the instrumental version from back in 1982 and mixing the original song into it from there. It's effortless and smooth and perfect. Another great extended version. Also the Miss Me Blind remix is one I haven't heard before. This is a MUST have CD for any Culture Club fan. Mostly packed full of rare and hard to rind remixes. Awesome!

celebrate what's here, lament what's missing.
Until now, despite numerous 12" collections, many Culture Club 12" mixes never did make it to CD. Much of that has been fixed here--but quite honestly, this CD could easily have been a 2-disc set. OR, they could have left off some of the album versions that never had a 12" mix. I understand they wanted to represent all the hits, but you really have to know your audience at this point in the history of physical media. General audiences will just download MP3s of their favorite songs by Culture Club. The ones still buying their physical CDs already have all their albums--we're just looking for the stuff that never made it to CD. So, Karma Chameleon and Church of the Poison Mind? No thanks--already have the full length album with these songs on it. The 12" mixes of God Thank You Woman and Move Away? Already included on the deluxe edition of the From Luxury to Heartache CD. I'll Tumble 4 Ya has appeared in its 12" mix on various other Culture Club compilations. So what could have replaced them? The 12" mixes of Gusto Blusto and the flip side 12" mix of The War Song, which runs about 40 seconds longer than the mix that is included here and which has never been on a compilation before. In fact, Blank & Jones could have constructed a complete 12" mix of this song as well, because the two 12" mixes of The War Song from the vinyl single are both incomplete, each missing a different part of the actual album version! On the awesome side, this disc brings some first timers. White Boy 12". AMAZING. I'm Afraid of Me 12". AMAZING. From Luxury to Heartache 12". Even the 12" mix of Miss Me Blind WITHOUT the awfully edited "It's a Miracle" smash up is here--this full length extended mix of Miss Me Blind on its own has only started appearing on various artist compilations in the past few years. Add to that 2 reconstructed 'extended' versions done exclusively for this collection by Blank and Jones. "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" does something that should have been done decades ago--it is extended and now features the "Murder Rap Trap" b-side by Captain Crucial. However, note that this extended version uses the rap as its closing instead of returning to the original "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" vocal ending. And finally, the reconstruction of "Time" does the same thing, using its flip side, the instrumental "Romance Beyond the Alphabet" version, to extended the song, giving it an intro that's over a minute long. So, all complaining aside, this is DEFINITELY a worthy addition to the Culture Club CD vaults. Now maybe reissues of the original Culture Club albums will be done RIGHT and the label will add Gusto Blusto and the alternative 12" of The War Song to their respective albums as bonus tracks....

So cool!!!!!
As far as I am concerned Culture Club is one of the best bands to come out of the 80's with well written songs so soulfully sung by Boy George and visually stunning for their day some of these songs seem as fresh as when they were first released ..... Good job Blank & Jones for bringing some of the more lesser known tracks to this collection.

Finally, 12' versions never released on CD !
Thanks to Blank & Jones for compiling the best Twelve versions of the best 80's band. This CD is the complement of the "12lve versions" CD. For the first time, "White Boy", "I'm afraid of me", "The medal song" are printed on CD... And the versions of "DYRWTHM" and "Yime" remixed by B&J are great. Thanks. Hope the next one "So80s" will be based on George's solo career... with "Sold", "I pray (1987 version).. and many other pearls he realeased. George, you are my boy. Love you!

Grande raccolta
Masterizzazione impeccabile!

FINALLY! I'm Afraid of Me (Extended Dance Mix) on CD
I've gone to heaven...I can finally store my vinyl of "Time Clock Of The Heart" which contained the excellent B-side of "I'm Afraid Of Me (Extended Dance Mix)". Thank you Blank & Jones for this wonderful gift!
