Anything with the name Walter Hill attached to it is going to be fun to read! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Hard Case Crime does Comics *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2017* This is the first Graphic Novel from Hard Case Crime new line of Comics. Two more are scheduled later this year. Since Titan Comics and Hard Case Crime are both published by the same parent Publisher (Titan Books in the U.K.) it seems like a good fit.The origins of this Graphic Novel go back 15 years where Director Walter Hill was trying to get this screenplay made into a movie called Tomboy. After years of frustrating failure he got together with two French creators and made it into a 3 part European Graphic Novel. The European market for Adult Concepts is much advanced of the USA and few funny animal and superheroes appear there.Enter Charles Ardai, Hard Case Crime Publisher who brought it to America and translated it to English.The concept is controversial and way over the top. A ruthless Hitman awakes to find he has undergone Unwanted Sex Reassignment Surgery by a Rougue Surgeon. This is the controversial part and has probably offended the Transgender Community. I found this part of story quite hard to believe. This type of surgery requires many pre-operative treatments. Seeing the Hitman emerge as a Hot Woman for the first time complete with Hair, Make-Up and Nails done is a little unrealistic. Did the Surgeon also do this?I guess it is no more outlandish then the movie Face Off where the two leads switch faces.But if you can get past this concept it is a quite gritty Crime Drama for adults. It is loaded with Violence, Sex and Nudity and definitely not for children.The art by the French dou of Artists know as Jef is very realistic and quite stunning and I will attempt to include a couple samples.This Graphic Novel actually helped Walter Hill and his partner get a movie made after the fact. The low budget (Five Million Dollars) The Assingment is currently experiencing a very limited release. It stars Michelle Rodriquez in the lead and Sigourney Weaver as the Rogue Doctor. Unfortunately I have yet to see it so a can't report on the quality of it.Meanwhile the Graphic Novel is a lot high action fun, despite a rather shacky concept. I look forward to reading the Hard Case Crime other two Graphic Novel entries Peepland and Triggerman. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars You will not be disappointed with the story, action, or art. *by D***G on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2017* Hard case crime comics or books always delivers great action and a great story. The Assignment is a great read with fantastic art. This is a double revenge story.
