Passes the ultimate test with flying colours; recommended
I bought this light several weeks ago but wanted to give it the ultimate test before writing a review.Firstly - the quality of the light, charger and accessories is very high high. The mounting bag for the battery was slightly poorly stitched in places and I tidied it up with little black thread but that is being VERY fastidious.Secondly - the light output is spectacular on both high and low modes. Speaking as a car driver for a moment I think anyone who uses the flashing mode on the road is an idi*t. It is very distracting and dazzling for drivers who can't really identify what or where you are.I fully charged the battery pack (wait for the red light to turn green) and ran a test first at full power mode and the light lasted over 5 and a half hours. After recharging and switching to low power mode it ran for over 10 hours.Last weekend I used this light on my road bike during a night time ride of 67 miles starting at midnight on Friday in central London and finishing in Whitstable at 08.30 (we stopped a lot to let everyone catch up and had an hour stop for food). It was an overcast night and the route was mostly unlit country lanes. With this light, aimed slightly down, even in low power mode the road was superbly illuminated so that any potholes or obstacles could be clearly seen. The beam pattern is a sensible nice cone shape so oncoming vehicles were not dazzled by the light. We had some rain which was expected. I had put the battery pack inside a small ziplock bag before slipping it into the supplied mounting bag since the battery pack is not claimed to be waterproof. The rain caused no problems with the light.Despite crashing down the occasional unavoidable big pothole at high speed when descending hills, the light stayed firmly in place. Note that for modern bikes large diameter handlebars you need the longer of the two silicon rubber bands supplied. I didn't find fitting the light to the bars at all difficult. For this kind of adventure touring the light is perfect. If your intended use is for daily commuting, bear in mind it would take a minute or so to remove the light and battery pack and each end of your journey. However no tools are needed which is a bonus point. For the modest outlay this is a superb bike light. Other riders on the night ride were using a famous British brand of lights costing in excess of £200 and frankly they were no better or even slightly inferior to this one.

Powerful and good value.
The battery finally died on my old bike light and it was nearly as cheap to buy a complete new light than to get new batteries, and a lot less hassle. This is bigger than my old light but also a little brighter. It has a battery pack that you need to secure to your bike, I put mine on my top bar and then you use the fixing bands to fit the light to your handle bars. The power button at the back of the light will illumninate green so you can easily see where it is in the dark for turning on/off or changing modes. The light has two brightness settings plus a flashing mode. You'll get up to xxxx hours depending on which brightness mode or flashing mode you use and the battery takes around xxx hours to recharge. The light can stay on the bike as there is a plug which allows you to disconnect the battery for charging. In use the light is very bright and illuminates the road ahead a good distance. The flashing mode is not for illumination purposes but for use on lit roads to make you more visible to other road users.A good price for a powerful bike light.

Inadequate handlebar mount.
I have used the light for a return journey to work, so this is just an initial observation an a personal point of view.Light seems fine, with a good light output....no complaints as far as bright light goes. The unit itself is very solid as far as feel and construction appearence goes. The connection between the battery and light unit is also well fitting, alough how waterproof I cannot say until I and my bike get a good soaking. My one major gripe with many lights, and this one is no exception, is the rubber band mounting. With small lights of little weight this might be adequate, but on a unit of this size and weight it is not in my opinion at least, good enough. For me, the small band was too tight risking the plastic securing lugs breaking under stress. On the other hand the larger band is a little on the loose side resulting in the light continually slipping downward, or pointing off at an odd angle.I tend to feel that this light package could be greatly improved by supplying a more robust handlebar attachment. My preference is to have a light fitted in such a way that it stays firmly in position, and a suitable beam angle can be set to prevent dazzling other road /cycle path users.OK, the price is not high and as such it seems good value for money. I would be happy however to spend a few ££'s more for a stronger mount which can hold the light secure, much needed on todays bumpy roads.Looking at the reveiws, it seems the general feeling is that this is a great light, but it would be interesting to know how others feel about the mounting system for the headlamp unit.I've given four stars as the headlamp unit and battery so far seem to wrok well, but need to knock a star off for the mounting system.

Bright but broke after 2 charge cycles
Light is bright. Flashing mode will probably blind people (I didn’t use this mode). However after two charge cycles the light stopped working. Returned product for a refund

Need help with fixing
Just received and the base of the light has the wire facing forward so can't get the strap on. Is this Correct as other seller looks to have base with wire facing back. What is correct? Can someone tell me how to get rubber clipped where the wire blocks this at the front. Will score when can sort out.

Super bright bike light
This is a super bright light for my bike. The box is fully recyclable and packaging is a minimum. Inside are 5 items the cree bike light, battery, two attachments for the bike and charger. It will take about 8 hours roughly for a full charge after the battery is fully depleted. The item was great especially for the winter, when there is less light. The mount of the bike light easily attaches to the bike and felt secure. The light has three settings which can be activated with the button on the bike light. They are bright light, low light, and flashing. It cost about £20 and overall I am happy with the price of the item for what I got.
