Exactly as expected, haven't used it long enough to say if it works as well as people say but after first few applications I can say it makes the leather super soft and flexible so that's good.Update:It does work. Softens the leather and makes the shoes shiny. Can definitely see the restoring capabilities on my leather boots. Makes them more durable and resistant to water. Love it.

I had two very old and thick guitar straps that had become almost rigid. I brushed on copious amounts of the oil and left it to soak in. After a week or two of applications, they are back to being flexible and crack free. You need a little patience for very hard and dry leather, but items that just need moderate treatment become soft and pliant in hours.

Great item and love the reference to Ernest Borgnine in 'The Vikings'! Really effective on tired shoes and much more cost effective than your local tack shop - (but do use it or lose it!) Smells good and easy to handle on a cloth. Recommended.
