Three stars, not for the thermometer -- it works all right -- but for the packaging. Under "instructions" there's a sales pitch. No actual instructions. Darned thing wouldn't work. Took me several days of trying now and then before I could budge the battery cover. Discovered a little piece of paper separating the battery from the contact. Removed that, replaced the cover, now it works.So, it's an OK thermometer. It works. What else would I want? Just some actual instructions, reminding the buyer to remove the little piece of paper.

I LOVE IT! Fast reading, good sized LCD display. I use it to take my temperature as all the electronic ones for medical use, are way too short and try to pop out of your mouth. Give a good accurate reading in about 15 seconds. Be careful as the tip is somewhat sharp. I bet it's also good for testing your steaks or other concoctions. Has a wide range!

It did not entirely die. The metal temp probe came unglued to the black plastic inside. So it was able to spin/move a little bit. The temps were not being read correctly after that. I did not know that thing came unglued until I broke open the plastic case that is glued together. There was just a very minor amount of glue around it, not enough to survive you sticking it into some meat. It did work until then.

This is a great little thermometer, easy to set and to read. The only problem with it is how long it takes to calculate the temperature. The problem being that while it is slowly calculating the temperature, the thing I'm cooking is in danger of becoming too hot. I guess it wasn't advertised as an "instant" read thermometer, so that's the deal.

Terrific thermometer. Reads the temp quickly and accurately. I recommend this product.
