Neat, highly usable and small device.
All as expected. Arrived promptly and safely.Monitor/reader is quite small in size. Comes with a small carry pack with easy-release clip to contain monitor, spaces for test strip container, lance unit and pockets for spare consumables, etc. But UK charger needs to be carried separately due to size.Monitor is a rechargeable unit with sealed-in battery. Seems to last some weeks between charge and gives visible warning when getting low. So not generally necessary to carry charger around too.Clear to read screen. Bright colour LCD.Easy to set up and use. But only a single measurement setting available, which uses <mmol/L> and cannot be changed to any other.

excellent little blood glucose meter from one touch
excellent little blood glucose meter from one touch, i got this to replace another meter that was not as reliable , the accu-chek mobile (the one with the cassette of tests in the back) was failing on three out of four tests and when having a low bloods a reliable meter is vital to watch my blood levels, this one so far has done the job and i am thinking of getting a second as a back up , simple and easy to use with a 5 second test and clear colour display , and also a very small blood sample , very small indeed, make this a very attractive option add to that it is rechargable with the supplied lead , as a 27 year diabetic i am very impressed with the verio iqupdate update i downloaded the managment software onto my computer at the weekend and was impressed yet again, just follow the prompts on the screen to get the meter to downlaod its results and hey presto !!!!!!! they are available to view in many different forms just select the one that suits you , and i picked up my repeat script from the doctors for the test strips so they are available , just give the chemist a couple of days to get them as they are quite new (so he tells me)

Bad meter, causing hypos and losing charge. Poor replacement of previous one touch meter
I was sent this meter as a replacement for a previous onetouch meter which was very good. This replacement though is a joke. It's more like a phone than a blood testing meter, requiring charging via a socket before you can use it. When you start the meter up it's got a colourful screen (like a phone) but here's the problem with that: The more colourful the screen, the more power the meter uses each time it is on, and the screen also felt too bright, having been used to a very simple display of the onetouch ultra smart. The test strips are also smaller than previous strips. Maybe this is good for some, but I found taking a strip out of the container fiddly, especially when feeling shaky and looking to confirm a hypo. Now the WORST part of this machine for me was the wrong numbers being provided. When I started using the machine I compared it with strips of the old one (doing 2 tests at the same time on both meters). I was shaking heavily and knew I was in a hypo, and rightly my previous meter showed this with a 3.0, but the verio IQ showed the result to be 6.2. I did the tests a few times and over the course of three days found this meter to register me as 15 when I was 9, and twice more suggest I was fine when I nearly passed out from a hypo. The meter also has the problem of discharging over time. I am used to these meters running on batteries I can buy in any store and those batteries lasting many months, sometimes even a year (and this is with several times a day testing). But after three messed up days using the verio I put it to one side, still showing full charge and left it turned off for a week. On the 8th day after initially charging the machine, it didn't work, it was 100% discharged! I couldn't believe it and dread to think what I would do if I went away with this machine for over a week without the charger. The good points of this meter are undoubtably its ability to record and track blood sugar results over many days but the software that is needed to turn these results into fancy charts is NOT included with the meter, it has to be downloaded from their website...not good if you don't have internet access (I feel they could have included a disc with the software within this pack). The lancet device that comes with this meter uses painfully large lancets compared to those by accu-check, I actually found onetouch lancets always too large even with previous meters. I actually tried the device found a lot of pain after using the device and have since held up the two lancet needles together-you can see the size and thickness difference. If you still want to try this meter then feel free, but be warned I have found wildly inaccurate results (and have found some evidence searching online of others having the same problems) and would advice to be cautious especially if you can't recharge this device often. This might even be worse than the inaccurate test results as a regular battery can be replaced even if away from home, but if this thing discharges while you are out...there's no way to get it back unless you have the charger with you and somewhere to plug in.I'd advise AGAINST getting this machine, but at the end of the day it is an individual's choice.

Excellent service from beginning to end
Excellent service from beginning to end. Ordered it at weekend received it on Tuesday. Royal Mail was totally up to scratch on this occasion. The metre itself I have had it before and liked it very much. This one is a spare because I couldn't do without it if other one broke.

so easy to read battery for me seems to last for ages, dependable and like it that the lancets don't spread your finger ends, plus only need small drop of blood for readings so can use smaller number on dial i tend to use 2/3 now
