This is a very elegant looking cake stand. It does come in two (2) separate pieces but is very steady, regardless. We used this stand for a two tiered cake that measured 10 x 10 & 6 x 6 (both layers 6 inches high) It has molded beads that outline the plate. It's dimensions are as described in the product description.

Very deceiving- the manufacture doesn't tell you that is plastic. I thought it was ceramic. Its very pretty but not what I was looking for. This is something for outdoor patio entertaining.

I love the design with the detachable base; I just wish it wasn’t made out of plastic makes it little less elegant but probably more durable.

I like it! While not exactly porcelain looking, it does still look very nice, and I love that you can use the platter with or without the base. Useful for a square cake or also cookies/brownies/cupcakes since it has a lip on the edge.

Love this stand and love that the base comes off and you can use it as a flat plate.
