Classic Prog Metal
The first album I heard from Voivod. I saw the video for Tribal Convictions on Headbangers Ball in 1988. At first I was like, what in the world is this band. But it grew on me.I'm very happy to finally have this album on vinyl. This remastered repress is excellent quality sound and the cover and inner are nice. Lyrics and a photo of the band are inside.

Fantastic concept album!
Dimension Hatross shows Voivod as they started to refine their sound. This expanded edition sounds better than ever and the extra content makes it a must for any fan even if you already own the original.

Dimension Hatross on this vinyl release will be the best you’ve ever heard it!
This is the album where Voivod perfected their prog metal vision, melding sci-fi concepts with immediately recognizable melodies and unified rhythms. The vinyl came pristine, and I have NEVER heard Voivod sound so good. The record was released by BMG/Sanctuary, and unlike most records that come out of the sleeve needing to be cleaned before playing, this one had minimal floor noise and pops, ready to go in all its analog warmth and fullness.

Exhaustive and awesome version of prog masterpiece.
Exhaustive and comprehensive treatment of one of the greatest prog metal albums ever recorded. The demo versions are rawer and heavier than the final versions. It takes about eight hours to go through all the audio and video material in this three disc set. The live audio set is great. The live concert videos are also good. If you do not own Dimension Hatross this is the version to get for your collection.

CD2 is good, but otherwise dissapointed
When I first saw the product description, I was very excited by the volume of the content, and the relatively affordable price for 2 CD's and a DVD. I mistakenly thought the DVD was going to have individual audio tracks. The product description on Amazon also said "Remastered". So I pre-ordered and got it yesterday. You get CD1 - The original album, with no indication that it has been remastered. CD2 - a fairly high quality live concert. DVD - the "Demo" version of the album, which is interesting and good quality - a bunch of concert videos, which are just too low quality to be very enjoyable.I sampled the videos for about 20 minutes before I decided I had seen enough. I'll probably watch at least one completely through sometime, just out of curiosity. There are also two slideshows, which I've looked at once, and probably won't look at again. As of now, I feel that only CD2 brings any compelling value to this set, and will be something I listen to multiple times. The Demo version of the album on the DVD, and to a lesser extent, the videos, have value, of course, but I doubt I'll ever make it through all of it, and I would likely never play any of it more than once.I also got the Deluxe Expanded Edition of Killing Technology, and my review of that would be essentially the same, but a little worse. Instead of a good quality Demo version of the album for the audio track on the DVD, it has very poor audio from a concert. I am no longer considering getting the Deluxe Expanded Edition of Rrröööaaarrr, especially since the original albums do not appear to be remastered. I haven't done a side by side comparison yet, but neither the liner notes, nor the CD labeling, make any mention of remastering.Update: I do now see that the album was remastered. I missed it the first time because it was not part of the credits for CD-1, but rather a general credit. Not very clear IMHO, since the whole thing is not remastered, then what exactly is remastered? Anyway, it is "remastered" WETFTM. Don't get me wrong though, I think this is a great release, and I would buy similar treatments of some of their later albums. I just wouldn't have any expectations for the material on the DVD.

Epic experimental Metal from up north
An epic of Canadian experimental metal.Voivod's fusion of jagged, metallic post-punkish riffing, dynamics ,textures with trash metal undertones sounds as daring now as it did in 1988. Fans of Avant garde metal (Isis,Celtic Frost, to name a few) and more experimental leaning indie fans (Sonic Youth et al) can find plenty worth exploringHail V0ivod

Voivod on vinyl is awesome!
Voivod is a hidden gem of thrash metal. If you haven't heard this band, you've never heard anything close to their sound. Look them up on YouTube and if you still aren't sure, just try several more times and you'll probably start to live this band. Also, this album is one of their best.
