Great Struts
2014I had originally purchased this strut back in 2014 from Amazon but never wrote a review for this particular part, but I had a great experience with them. When it came time to change them again, I decided to try something different. I wrote reviews for all the Gabriel shocks that fit my Saturn Vue so that others could have some info when making a purchase. Below is my experience with trying a different brand.2022I had changed my shocks and struts with Monroe Reflex about six months ago. After the install, I thought something was wrong because the car was bottoming out and was bouncy. Shocks and struts are supposed to prevent bouncing. The Monroes were supposed to be an upgrade (with “Reflex” technology) but they turned out to be horrible! I couldn’t believe how bad they were for my Saturn Vue. After stewing for six months on how I spent money on this garbage, I decided to replace the shocks and struts again. I went back to the Gabriel Ultras I bought before, and man what a difference. The car handles bumps and dips like it is supposed to, it’s like new again!Don’t let the lower price of the Gabriels fool you. Compared to other makes they are quality shocks at a great price, worth every penny.

Great improvement in the ride.
The packaging could have been a little better. 2 struts and 2 shocks in the factory boxes inside a big box. There was some movement and sliding around, but no damage to the parts, just the boxes. The struts went on fairly easy, just took a bit to get the driver side bolts to line up all the way. The old struts and shocks were 9 years old with 85,000 miles on them. When I compared the old to the new, there was a huge difference. When I compressed the old one, they barley extended back to full length and one would not do anything. So far I have out about 50 miles on the new struts and shocks and now it rides like a new car. I no longer have the klunking sound. I've read a good deal on other reviews as far as the longevity and like most other products, there will be a some bad ones. For the price I couldnt beat it. October, I get the rebate on one rear shock + Amazon points and points from another card will cost me $10 out of pocket plus a control arm link that was $15. So if they hold up for 75K miles, I will be very pleased.

G56899 Best Comfort for Golf/GTI period.
I have factory sport suspension option on my MK6 Golf 55mm strut. It was very comfortable paired with the Gabriel rear shocks. Well dampened and the variable dampening does work as advertise. Pretty much luxury car level smooth. The only complaint is longevity of the strut. Rear shocks are still going strong but the strut has lost rebound and compression control both on high and low speed movements. Freeway impact overwhelms, bottoms out and wallows a bit. Got maybe 40k miles out of these. First 37k miles were much better ride than Sachs OEM but last half the miles and $20 more per strut than OEM. It was tough switching back to Sachs but I do 20k miles a year. I can’t justify 2 struts every 18mo.

Gabriel G56893 Ultra Strut
Gabriel G56893 Ultra Strut. 1st let me say, Amazon, you really are an asset to all who shop here. I ordered a pair of struts for my wife's car and you were out of stock but nonetheless I placed the order knowing that it would be 2 to 3 weeks before this item would be in stock again and Amazon keeps you up to date so well that a week before the item was due in I recieved a email saying the item would come early and that it would be shipped shortly. Long story short immediately after that email I realized I had ordered the wrong part so with the easy cancellation I was able to make the correction before debit ordered the correct part and 1 of those parts as a pair said only 1 left in stock so I ordered the two pieces and without a single glitch I recieved the correct parts in rapid time & no shipping cost. I really like Amazon. I may have just squeaked by but that's not what Amazon looks at and that's a good thing. Amazon may charge you a cancellation fee of $1.00 who? would argue with that. Far be it from me. Great job Amazon!

Cheaper shock put in box. Look like cheaper Detroit shocks.
Do not order. I ordered 2, sent them back and reordered 2 replacements. Same issue with all 4. All 4 of these were all opened and retaped when received. The box is a Gabriel box but the item inside is something else with no manufacturer marking, has wrong part number and is marked made in China. Gabriel shocks are made in Mexico. Called Amazon and reported this issue.

Excellent ride for a Civic 2003 4-door
As every owner of Civic 2001-2005 knows, our suspensions give an unsettled ride. In city driving on bad patched streets, the ride is simply harsh. In order to improve it, I have tried a variety of struts and shocks: Bilstein B8 (front) + B6 (rears), Koni Orange, KYB's. Couldn't expect that the cheapest struts, the Gabriel's, would give the best ride of them all.Although there is some floating after dips and creases on the road at the rear of the car, the general control is very good, the ride quality is a lot more comfortable, and what I didn't expected, the way the car handles in corners give me full confidence.I don't know if Monroes OE Spectrum could give a better ride than Gabriels, but I don't think I would risk a try.

Perfect Fitment for 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7L
Purchased for 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7L FWD Front.Installed November 2014 to replace the shot OEM struts after approximately 125K miles. You'll need a coil spring compressor, however that is the only special tool required. Installation is pretty straightforward and knocked out in a couple of hours. While you're at it, be sure to replace the upper shock mount assemblies since this is where most of the squeak and rattle originates. As one would expect, the difference in feel of the suspension is immediate. As of the time of this writing (October 2018) we are approaching 4 years with no problems. I am impressed with shock quality and am well pleased with this purchasing decision and have no problem recommending this product.
