When Josh Morgan's (Ron White, Lie with Me) wife is killed in a car accident, both he and his son, Shane, struggle to build a future together as they travel the rodeo circuit. Josh, the driver that fateful night, reels with guilt, turning to alcohol as his once-successful bull-riding career fades. Shane, who holds his father responsible for their downward spiral, seethes with anger as he attempts to lead a normal life on the road. When Shane receives an unexpected inheritance, it seems that his dreams of a stable life are realized. But to turn their new start into a new life, father and son must first mend their rocky relationship and let go of the past that haunts them both.

loved this dvd when i saw it years ago and reacently got the chance of a all region dvd player to enjoy it on

I started out biased in favour of this movie because I had heard favourable reports, because I had seen previous good work by Anne Wheeler, and because it is largely an Alberta movie and I am an Albertan.Some of the time the acting seemed a bit amateurish, the story was fairly ordinary but always plausible. The characters were mostly very believable and were all people one could empathize with. The people were good and bad but never evil.The scenery was good and the riding looked convincing.Edward Wiebe

A total waste of time.
Absolutely one of the worst 'adapted from the book' films ever made! Do not show this to readers of the very fine teen novel of the same name. The name is the only thing accurately taken from the book.
