Generally, I prefer modern westerns, and haven't read any LL for a long time. Partly, I set him aside because he wrote so, so much... and after awhile you get to feeling awash in one single writer. But on the other hand, he's a guaranteed product, and after having been awash way too many times in mediocre western genre fiction, it's good to come back to the tried and true.
