The film is completely clear and can be installed to bring your glazing up to British Standard BS6202 class B (BS EN 12600) which is in line with Health and Safety in the Workplace 1992 Regulation 14. The safety film brings glass to the same standard as safety glass and helps to protect occupants from injury and even death caused by flying shards of glass when a window is smashed. The film is also a security film helping to strengthen the glazing. When installed to glass that is already toughened or laminated it can help to repel attacks by bricks, bats and other materials. The security window film isn't designed to offer a "no way through" protection system but it will hold off attacks and in many cases this is enough to deter most burglars. The film is completely clear to the eye, has a scratch resistant coating and comes with ten years warranty. INSTALLATION: The film is fitted using a solution of one pint of water to one teaspoon of Johnsons baby shampoo or washing up liquid, a sharp knife, glass scraper, squeegee and some lint free cloth. ## Features - Professional Quality from the Active Film Range, Includes full comprehensive fitting instructions. What I did was to warm the pane, and film gently with a hair dryer. DO NOT get just one spot on the glass hot, you must use gentle heat, and KEEP THE HEAT SOURCE MOVING. If you overheat, or heat unevenly, you will probably break the glass. It just needs to be gently warmed over the whole glass. It needs to be warm, NOT HOT. When warm, either try to lift a corner, or if not, take a sharp blade, and get the blade under the film, then start to pull the film off the glass. Pull the film as close to the glass as possible NOT at right angles to the glass, as pulling at right angles may stress the glass too much. Make sure you wear safety gloves, goggles, and thick sleeves etc, and keep everyone well back from the area, but have someone nearby just in case of accidents. Hope it goes well, Regards. **Q: Can you use this on patterned glass** A: Yes I've used it on patterned glass and it was fine **Q: Can you cut it** A: Hi there yes it is easily cut with good scissors or with straight edge and stanley knife. If you follow the excellent instructions, it works perfectly. **Q: Can you cut to size with a stanley knife once in position?** A: I think that it needs to be near to the required size before fitting. This obviously depends how you intend using the film. I did trim my piece when in place but only by about 15mm. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint hearted *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2023* The product is as advertised and the installation instructs are clear. Just make sure you follow them word for word. I purchased the film to cover a full length mirror, the film does have a slight colour to it, so I decided to cover the back of the mirror. I did find it quite hard to handle to begin with. It arrived wound up in a tube, when I took it out it sprang open, because it is so shinny it was difficult to hold so I would suggest leaving it out of the tube for a few days before starting to work with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Check and double check. *by N***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 June 2021* The instructions enclosed when delivered showed a picture that intimated the film that goes to the glass was on the inside of the supplied roll, with the liner on the outside. Wasn’t convinced but thought better adhere too.It all seemed OK but when the ‘slip’ had dried the so called liner I’d removed was very tacky.Concerned I contacted the suppliers and explained. They confirmed that the adhesive side of the film that goes onto the window should feel tacky when dry and not the liner.So.... before doing anything slightly separate the film from the liner, confirm which one has a tacky side, that’s the side of the film that goes to the glass after applying the slip.Instructions wrong so why 5 stars? The suppliers couldn’t have been more helpful and supplied a replacement length free of charge. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great product *by D***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 November 2022* Our club Velux windows needed to be covered due to one shattering. The film is very easy to apply following the instructions in spite of them being overhead. all our windows are now covered and safe now. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/52113874-active-supreme-range76cm-x-2-metre-clear-safety-and-security](https://www.desertcart.be/products/52113874-active-supreme-range76cm-x-2-metre-clear-safety-and-security) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-27*
