Don’t buy
Not one of them worked. Really cheap. I wouldn’t recommend buying this. The metal sleeve that screws into the socket completely came off the base of the product, the light flickered and then it started to spark. I removed the metal sleeve from the socket and tried another extender. This time I didn’t tighten the extender down so tight, plug in the bulb hit the switch, no light, turn the extender tighter into the socket, light starts to flicker but not on continuous so I try to turn the extender a light more, light come on. After about 10 minutes of running the light it owes out. Mind you I am running a 6w LED bulb, Very very low heat. I unscrew the extender same issue, to much tensions the screw in cap busted off, to light tension lights won’t turn on. I ended up going to Home Depot and buying something that worked.

Great for converting recessed lights
I've only had these a little while but they are working well as advertised. They extend further than others sold and you can adjust how much extension you want by an inch or so. I bought them to help a friend who has deeply recessed light fixtures with dim yellow flood lights and wanted more brightness in basement work area. These coupled with new LED daylight bulbs have made a world of difference. I ran into a little difficult threading one or two of them (E26 bulb) where if it wasn't threaded just right the light wouldn't come on, but after redoing it once with a little more care it worked as expected.

Thin wire. Maybe too thin.
The wire, including the insulation, was only 1.5 mm thick. I appreciate the fact that this is so inexpensive - I guess what do you expect at this very reasonable price? I want to have a bigger safety margin for my family. Based on my limited experience, I believe it is thinner than 22 gauge. If the wire were too thin, it may heat up too much. The price is very good. Also, I don't know what wires are used for other extenders so I rather not judge too critically. Maybe they are all like that.

Great for adjusting wide beam flood bulbs in can lights!
I used these to drop the BR40 wide flood bulb in the hanging can light over pews at my church. If I didn't use these the 120 degree beam angle of the bulb would have been narrowed because of the can type fixture. The adjustment is good. I selected something between short and long and the bulb is staying put.

Easy to install and they do the job!
We had poor light in our bedroom because recessed light bulbs were too high in the cans with no way to adjust them down. These extenders have solved the problem without the expense of changing out the fixtures. Couldn't be happier with all the new light!
