The iButton Solo Electronic Lock can be used indoors or outdoors and gives you more control over your property than a traditional key-based lock. There are two ways to use this lock: by entering a 4- to 8-digit ID code or by touching iButtons (sold separately) to the sensors at the top of the lock. Using iButtons is a more secure method: it's easy for users to share ID codes but more difficult to share an iButton. Simply by pressing a combination of keys on the lock's keypad, supervisors can: Set up to 299 iButtons or ID codes to operate the lock at all times. Set the iButtons or ID codes to operate the lock only between particular times or dates. Set the iButtons or ID codes to operate the lock one time only. (Great for repairmen!) Set the lock to unlock at a particular time of day and remain unlocked until a certain time. Battery life: More than 10,000 openings; signals when batteries are low.
