Piecebook: The Secret Drawings of Graffiti Writers Hardcover – June 28, 2008

As a 'writer' from back in the '80's I loved this book. This is one of the best books showcasing and paying homage to the graffiti movement. Now I am a corporate 'type', I am proudly displaying this on my coffee table. It is interesting to watch people's reactions to it knowing this was once a big 'piece' of who I was and who I became.

This book is a very nice addition for anyone interested in any type of art. The book is full of sketches and full pieces by great artists all over the world. It is a really thick and well build hardback that will last you a lifetime. I would recommend this to anyone who is a beginner or advanced at graffiti or to anyone who is simply curious about the art.

PIECEBOOK: The Secret Drawings of Graffiti Writers has successfully compiled a who's who of writer's writers in a format that looks so legit, you'd swear you could feel the grooves in the pages left by pencils and pens... As authentic and realistic as possible, there are even a few blank sheets to get up yourself! I even tried to peel the sticker off the inside cover! Villorente & Jenkins have compiled every toy's fantasy blackbook!

I could not believe how weak the art was in this book. I just kept turning the page and being re-disappointed. Peppered with a few good pieces, the majority was not worthy of a hardcover printed book. On some pages, the curator should be downright embarrassed to have included them. Hit up the black book section of graffiti dot org and don't waste your money here.

Amazing book for writers 👌🏾

I bought this book for my son who loves graffiti art. He loves it and uses it often as he practices his own art. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for the perfect gift for the graffiti artist.

The overall cover look of the book already deserves 5 stars. Great hardcover looks exactly like a blackbook. The graffiti inside is amazing pieces from all the legends, and blank pages or you to be creative on.

Old school NY is highly over rated. A sprinkle of decent old pieces but You're better off browsing the Internet for quality NY old school black book pieces.

ich habe das buch aufgrund seines interessanten titels bestellt. ich kenne skizzenbücher von bemerkenswerten graffitti writern und ich liebe sie. doch dieses buch hält bei weitem nicht das, was es verspricht! als ich das buch zum 1. mal in den händen hielt, war ich begeistert von dem toll designten und hochwertigen einband. auch die dicke des buches versprach viel. doch als ich es aufschlug, wurde meine erste freude getrübt: die rückseite jeder 2. seite ist unbedruckt, einige der skizzen sind nicht vollständig abgedruckt (ränder wurden einfach abgeschnitten, weil das seitenformat wohl nicht mit dem skizzenformat übereinstimmte) und die qualität lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig! einige skizzen bestehen aus 3 linien und irgendwelchem unerkennbaren gekrakel. es sind im ganzen buch nur ca. 5 brauchbare und künstlerisch wertvolle skizzen vorhanden. texte und beschreibungen zu den skizzen fehen ebenfalls.ich rate dringend vom kauf ab, bzw empfehle den kauf einer anderen graffitti lektüre (wie zb stylefile)! diese mäßigen skizzen sind die 25 eur nicht wert!
