It was only about a year old when the battery started to fail and it would pulse on and off, everything I could tell was that it needed to be serviced from what I read online. I meticulously cleaned it and it still did not work. I did not want to spend $130-$150 for a true Dyson battery so I decided to give this a try. It took about 2 minutes to swap it out and it charged up just fine on the wall charger that the vacuum came with originally. Side by side they are more or less identical and they managed to reverse engineer this thing very well. I am not buying into the claim that it has more ampacity than the factory battery, they are the same size and weight, it would take more battery cells to accomplish that feat. It does however, last just as long as the factory battery when it was new. I have used it for a couple of months now and I am still amazed how long it lasts and I am happy that it brought new life to my Dyson that was destined for the landfill but remains part if the family.
