Buy the Apple product instead!
Piece of junk! I haven’t decided if I will send this back or just keep it to transfer files. If you’re wanting this as an audio connection from a mixer (zoom h6) to your iPad, spend the extra money and get the Apple product! There is a very noticeable echo. Even when it’s connected to power, the iPad pops up a warning saying that: ”this device requires too much power”. I’m not sure if this is a qc issue or if they are all complete garbage. I bought it because it was rated highly(probably by friends of the company)

So far, so good!!!
I was hesitant to get this at first, I've always understood the Apple-branded accessories to work most effectively. After seeing some reviews, I decided to give this a shot since I like the ability to charge the device at the same time the USB port is being used. And the official adapter costs twice as much. So far, it's been working great!I use this to when connecting audio and MIDI interfaces via USB and this adapter seems to work about as well as an Apple USB connector that I use on an older iPad. The only caveat - for some devices to work, you will need a powered USB hub to supply additional power. That's not unique to this accessory, it's just how the iPads and iPhones are designed. I just thought I would mention, because that comes up frequently with people trying to connect audio and MIDI interfaces with Apple devices.

“This accesory is not supported by this iPad” error
It was working perfectly well for my MIDI keyboard, but after the last iOS update I keep getting “This accesory is not supported by this iPad” which makes it useless.

Works for MIDI keyboards and photo transfer but not much else.
Allows me to connect my iPad to a capable keyboard (musical instrument) to play audio and MIDI through. Works perfectly and being able to charge my device at the same time makes this better than Apple’s own camera connection kit. Also love using it to transfer photos from my camera. Very pleased!UPDATE 10/04/2019:For those hoping for file transfer compatibility like from USB flash drives in the new iPadOS, get the official Apple adapter. This dongle works great for transferring photos from a camera and MIDI, so if that’s all you need, save money and purchase this one. Unfortunately, with the new iPadOS 13 and it’s support for external drives such as USB flash, this is not the accessory to purchase. Even with a charger plugged in it will not have enough power to work.

Works with my Yamaha P115
I got a new iPad because I was looking at getting back into the piano. I had the 30 pin to USB adapter, but needed a new one for the lightning charger.I was worried it wouldn't work since it said it had a power limit, but I can tell you, It works.

Works, but video suffers a little.
Easy to use, but it seems like the video quality is lower on my tv (like it’s running at half speed or something). Not bad for the price though. I imagine most if not all of these types of device do the same. You’d have to spend big bucks to get one that perfectly preserves picture quality.

Absolute junk. Even with the lightning cable connected, anything I plug into this USB port results in a message that the device requires too much power. Sending this **** back.
