Fire TV Stick 4K with All-New Alexa Voice Remote | Streaming Media Player - CR

My review will be a bit explanatory as many users have reported many stuffs. I’ll try to simplify what I have learned.So first, why anyone needs a FIRESTICK ? Now a days most TVs are Android. So Ans will be simple if you dont have an Android TV like LG or Samsung. Though LG and Samsung have their own OS and they work quite good, you may need some Apps which LG and Samsung lacks. There you will use a Firestick which has more Apps than stock LG Samsung. Even with an Android TV (like me), for some reason the stock android apps got no updates and thus the experience is getting worse and you need a better OS where updates are regularNow why refurbished ? Ans. Its cheap and works the same. In the packet you get everything except for the Original packing. No scratch whatsoever on anything. Feels completely new. So no issues in buying this product.Now I’ll explain some issues I faced with the device and I can see many people have experienced also.First problem is POWER BUTTON and VOLUME BUTTON doesn’t work. I’ll post the solution. While LOGGING IN if your Firestick DETECTS your TV correctly automatically, then all your BUTTONS will work. I’ve tested with LG tv. It immediately detected at LG TV and Voilà all buttons working. But when I’m using this on Thomson TV which is an Android TV, it doesn’t detect the TV automatically. I’ve to select from the list of TVs and follow some steps, still I cant get my BUTTONS working. So I’m stuck with using TWO remotes though my native THOMSON TV remote also controls the FIRESTICK without any issues so no problem for me. So if buttons not working and the solution not working for you, then you are stuck like me.Some people said the OUTPUT isnt 4k which is their TVs fault or their HDMIs fault. Not all HDMI port can show 4k at 60 FPS. Your TV may have only ONE such port which can go for 4k (I’ve TWO). So using Firestick only in that port will activate your 4k 60fps content.Dolby vision will work as per panel. Samsung TV wont show Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision works fine for me as my panel supports.You may get issues while DOWNLOADING APPs. It shows an error saying “Purchase Failure Sorry, we were unable to complete this purchase. Your account has not been charged". This problem I had but after successfully installing NETFLIX and YOUTUBE. No idea why the error was not showing from start. So here is the solution. You will need to CLEAR CACHE on AMAZON APP store in SETTINGS of your FIRESTICK. If this doesnt work, you have to take a slight longer route. Get a PC and LOGIN into your Amazon account. There you search for your DEVICES and CONTENT. There you may or may not see your FIRETV. If your FIRETV doesnt show, this means your account is SET TO DIFFERENT LOCATION. Mine was set to US i had no idea how. There click on Preferences and change your location to wherever you live. Put that Address with Pincode. Set your purchases to this location. Mine showed KINDLE ACCOUNT to US (i dont have Kindle). I changed that to my location in Odisha. Saved and closed the window. Restarted the Firestick and voilà it worked. Downloaded my HOTSTAR account and all good.Another thing I’ve noticed on Youtube. There is a slight lag in AUDIO in Youtube the first time I boot. Video comes first and then Audio. You may or mayNot notice but I can see for sure. Also the Colours in Youtube are a bit soft, skin tone slightly fair side when played in Firestick than on my native Android. Restarting the App helps in Audio lag but colours remain as such. Not a big issue, the difference I can notice.All other apps works like a charm. 4k 60fps on all Apps with Dolby Vision though audio is slightly lower than native android volume level on same apps, no idea why.Thanks for Reading. You just need to plug it into your TV or projector's HDMI port and connect it to your Wi-Fi network. It took me less than 20 minutes.Remote works very well. You can adjust the volume of your TV or soundbar with the remote, you can use your voice to control the volume by saying “Alexa, volume up” or “Alexa, volume down”.
