Would you like your life to be a touch easier and more efficient? Just get one of these. I got an idea to get one for my Dad for Father’s Day and I thought why don’t I get one too? I absolutely am SO glad I did! This thing is truly amazing to have around. Examples of how it helped me so far: 1. I had an blanket fall behind a very heavy leather couch that is kind of close to the wall. I could not easily move the couch forward without straining,and since the couch is large, could not easily reach behind it or on the side without possibly even hurting myself. My boyfriend was not around to help me at the time. I gently picked it up with this great tool in a few seconds no problems or issues! Immediate time saver, great for back and joints! 2. The cupboards are high! I’m only 5’1” so I basically have to drag out a stool for everything on the top shelf. Now I rearranged my cupboards so everything I can’t grab easily is on the lower shelves and everything I can’t is on the top! It’s so awesome to have little things like that make your life a little easier and safer too. You do not want to miss step off a ladder or stool! It is true it will pick up a thin dime off the floor! It also has magnets on the sides and easily picks up metal objects in tight spaces or just off the floor. I tested it on a couple things like a nail and bottle cap, works perfect! Less stooping pick up really almost anything off the floor so you don’t wrench your back. The head swivels but I have not had to use that function yet. Sturdy, well made, very grippy pinchers. Easy to open and close the thing-so nice to have around! My Dad loves his too, and I think he uses it out in the yard sometimes and in the garage. Makes a great, thoughtful gift for near impossible people to buy for who like practical stuff, but have almost everything they need already. He even could use another one-one with longer handle or one for upstairs/one for downstairs. I love this-highly recommend it!

This model definitely has a better build quality and is much more durable and capable than the ones being sold as the "best seller" (and it's endless clones from endless storefronts) that come up in search results. Those "best sellers" are garbage. They can't even pick up a can of 12oz soda, this one with its all around better designs and vastly superior build quality, has no problem with it. The structure was clearly designed to handle such a task with ease. To aid in it's strength, it's got these very effective rubber grippers at the ends of the tongs and they do exactly that, grip, particularly fabric/cloth/textiles, which is great for my two main tasks for it: transferring laundry in/out of washer/dryer and open/close drapes. The "best seller" in contrast struggled with the weight of damp laundry coming out of the wash headed for the dryer and it wouldn't grip well to the drapes. It's not perfect, and could use a few minor tweaks, but given the lack of fidelity with the managed "stars" system where now we only 3 choices (1-3=bad, 4=good enough, but not great and 5=great) and its far superior construction, I give it a 5. But on a non-managed, actual ranking I give it a 4.5, which equals: great product, could use a few minor changes, but still worthy of recommendation.

Not perfect, but much better than the super cheap and flimsy folding ones, the ultra cheap Harbor Freight ones, etc. I've been picking up litter walking to the grocery store and around downtown St Petersburg every day - about a 10 gallon garbage bag on the way there and another bag full on the way back. A lot of large construction plastic sheets and stuff I throw in dumpsters with this pickup tool also. It can grab a hold of small stuff like a coke can pop tab, and pretty heavy stuff like large cardboard boxes, heavy clothes, etc. The grip strength is fairly strong without being too strong to use hundreds of times to pick up average to small sized stuff. It's better than the several cheaper pickup tools I've used. Good rubber teeth to grab a hold of stuff. Very lightweight overall. It's strong plastic. The jaws and main tube section won't bend like so many other pickup tools, and would be difficult to break, but they're plastic so it's possible to break them if you hit something or try lifting very heavy stuff or whatever. For $23 it's much better than cheaper ones and not overly heavy duty like the more expensive ones.

This grabber is better than most. I use it daily and it has held up nicely. I'd love to find a grabber that is sturdy enough to use as a cane and also capable of picking up items, but until I find that this is a good option. The reason I took off a star is because of the amount of unnecessary plastic it came in. It was ridiculous! I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it. Why is it so hard to just put the item in a box? Unger or Amazon needs to do better.

This grabber is perfect for picking up wind-fall twiggs & smaller branches from our yard. We always have alot of wind-fall & rather than bending completely over to hand-pick dozens of times or, how about a100 or more times, this grabber/picker eliminates just about all of that bending for you. We’ve tried other brands, styles & lengths, ..and this one is the BEST. VERY light weight construction ..and its 32 inch length is the optimal length for most people. Compared to others, it’s not unnecessarily heavy to use because its arm is ‘no longer than it needs to be’ ..while still long enough so most people hardly have to bend, if at all. Everything about this grabber hits the perfect middle ground & checks all the boxes especially if ..as in our case, it’s used for smaller yard debris clean up. We already have one and bought a 2nd for my wife.

I will have had this Grabber for 2 years this November. I have used it on a regular basis and it has proven invaluable to me. For reasons I won't go into I often need to reach something that is either on the floor or on a shelf etc. and it has worked without issue every time. The tips of the jaws fit together tightly and with the rubber added I can pick up a piece of paper or something like a water bottle cap off the floor. I have also retrieved things like a 28oz bottle of Sriracha sauce (Huy Fong is the BEST!) off of a shelf. If the diameter of the item you are trying to retrieve is large enough for the jaws to fit tightly around it, you can lift it and bring it into your grasp or set it down on a table or shelf. But only squeeze as tightly as is needed to keep it from slipping out of the grasp of the grabber, if you put the gorilla grip on it I can see that this might possibly cause the jaw/s to break. Use finesse not brute force. Also when I'm sitting in my chair I cut up boxes for recycling and this grabber will fit around a stack of cut up pieces and I can deposit them in the recycling container near by. These are just some of the ways in which I have used this grabber. And while it is extremely useful for those who have issues standing or bending over I can see that this item would be useful to a healthy person. Have you ever had to get down on your hands and knees to retrieve something from under your desk? Or did you poke at it with a yard stick until it came within reach? I have a metal filing cabinet that sits next to my desk. And no matter how small you try and make the gap between the two, something will fall down in between. So again you can poke at the item with a yardstick and try and slowly free the item...or you can use this grabber to snag it. Donezo! I paid $18 for this grabber and I saw that at one time the price went up to $39. I would pay this price if need be. This grabber is that valuable to me. I can't speak to the issues that some who have left 1 star reviews have had. I don't doubt what they have said. If the plastic jaws break, that's that, you won't have a good impression about this grabber. But unless there was a manufacturing defect in the plastic it's hard for me to see how the jaws could break unless you used this to whack someone over the head or it impacted another hard object (There are few objects harder than some peoples' head). I often wait until I've had an item for a while before I write a review. And so far this grabber has stood the test of time for me and as I said, I would gladly pay twice the price I paid in the beginning. If you get one of these, have fun grabbing!

Extremely beneficial, easy to use and sturdy.

There's nothing wrong with this tool, but I am disappointed that it isn't a little stronger. The manufacturer did clearly state how much it could carry, so that's no fault on their part. I guess although I read it, I was hoping it might be able to handle a little more than that. For the most part, it does what I need it too, as I mainly use it to reach a dropped object when my cat is asleep on my lap and I don't want to make her move so that I can get up to get it. If your need is for getting canned goods and heavier items out of cabinets, I'm not sure if this will be strong enough. It MAY be, most definitely not for anything more than about a pound or two. I would recommend getting the longer size if available. I didn't think I'd need that size, but in the end, it would have been a better choice. This grabber is sturdy enough for the use it's meant to fulfill. While I wouldn't recommend driving over it, that's hardly enough of a reason to say that it isn't sturdy. It appears to be made well, is attractive enough, and there are no sharp edges or shoddy workmanship here. Again, for my average needs, this does just fine. Just consider what you really will be reaching for when you choose one of these grabbers so that you'll be more likely to choose the right one for you.
